A lovely hotel, great staff and excellent location.
A lovely hotel. The staff are all very friendly, helpful and professional. A very welcoming cold glass of cava at check in set the tone for our stay. The reception staff were very accommodating when my sister and her partner, who live in Spain visited.
The location is ideal for restaurants, shops, attractions and the beach. Don’t expect sea views but the rooftop bar and swimming pool give lovely views of the castle.
The bar staff were great and always had time for a chat. We thought the drinks prices were reasonable.
The breakfast was great. One could have a cooked breakfast, buffet, healthy or not. I had both, which probably cancelled out the fruit and muesli. The staff were friendly and always asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast.
The rooms were comfortable and had plenty of space, although we weren’t fans of the frosted glass toilet door. This design feature seems to be getting more fashionable. The interior designer who thought of that idea needs to go on holiday with someone who suffers with digestion problems.
I was concerned about the noise from the street below but it didn’t disturb our sleep.
The rooms were kept clean and tidied daily. The chocolates were a nice touch.
We would happily return here.

Brunch in Amérigo
We went to brunch three couples with children and ate very well, buffet variety and quality. Very attentive staff. Very good quality/price

Amazing Amerigo!
This hotel exceeded our expectations. Our third floor room was exceptional, modern, comfortable, with a great view of the castle from our balcony. The staff were superb. You may think there’s nothing special about this review…………check out the rooftop pool and bar. (thanks to Adrian for looking after us). Excellent, with fantastic views of the castle. Alicante is very walkable and Hospes Amerigo Hotel is a perfect setting. Highly recommended.

Great cocktails by night
This is a review purely on the rooftop bar as we werent staying at the hotel this time. The service was great. The cocktails were delicious & the ambience & atmosphere was really chilled & relaxed - will definitely be back.
