Overall average, but could be better
Overall nice hotel.
I think to be a 4* needs alittle upgrading, descent air-conditioning in rooms, hairdryer in rooms & pool towels.
Food nice although alittle repetitive.
Entertainment good by staff during the day, some outside entertainers not so good ie (Sandy Vagas) he hardly sung a word, too much backing music to drown him out.
Needs more cocktail options for AI (Only 3)
Football court needs to be open for kids longer on a nighttime as it closes at 8pm so then they were either running riot or playing on the grass or sand area, sometimes cause football to be kicked over near seating area & causing smashed glasses.

very good
i went here last year and the service was absolutely amazing, the staff were really nice, the rooms were airconed very well and options for gluten free (i have celiac) were really good and the staff went out they’re way to cook us really nice italian food and everything and i really appreciated it. they had a water slide for children which me and my nieces really enjoyed playing in. it was very clean and well kept and honestly it was the best hotel i’ve ever been to. the only downside is that it did get very crowded at pretty much all times of the day and it was pretty overwhelming but you can only expect that in peak season. if i have the chance i will definitely go here again!

A busy family hotel
We’ve just returned from a week at the Floriana self catering with a 15 & 19 year old. We’d never been to Cala Bona previously and we had friends who had booked in the Bahia Azul and we wanted to be nearby. On reflection their hotel would have suited our needs better but we needed two rooms and got a reasonable rate at the Floriana for the school holidays.
The resort is a good size but the pools are small for the number of people so it was busy, noisy and overcrowded. As a result we didn’t use the pools and preferred visiting friends at the Bahai Azul (although I don’t think Floriana guests are able to use it but we didn’t have any issue). I’m also not getting up to secure beds although we did find a few available near the pool in block G one morning.
We paid for breakfast a couple of times and it was good, staff were always helpful and worked very hard in exceptional heat as did the guys at the Bahia Azul snack bar.
We were in Block D and had two rooms on the first floor facing the pirate pool and also next to the path that leads to the harbour. Rooms are spacious and the beds very comfortable. Our housekeeper was lovely and made up the two sofa beds into a double for my son.
One issues was the showers that kept running hot and cold and the AC was struggling with the high outdoor temperatures. There’s also quite a bit of noise from doors slamming around us.
This resort wasn’t for us but it’s perfect for younger kids especially if all inclusive. There seemed to be lots of families having a great time. The entertainment staff worked very hard and there seemed to be quite a few activities to get involved in.
If you want a more relaxing time, have a look at the Bahia Azul.

3* great value for money
We booked this very last minute (within 72hrs) needed somewhere in Cala Bona to be close to family & was limited as it was Aug and last minute but we we’re pleasantly surprised at value for money.
There was 3 adults, 1 child & 1 baby and we paid £1k for 5 nights self catering in 1 bed apartment. I believe it’s great value for money. The apartment was much bigger than we thought, clean enough, staff were really helpful & friendly, lots to do for children! Kids club had loads of activities on and although we only watched one show we thought it was ok. We preferred to go out to harbour etc
The complex is really big with blocks between A-G and the pools are dotted around them. Exactly what we wanted/needed for the short space of time we booked.
Downsides to take in to consideration:
- Aug, as expected, is crazy busy!! The pools aren’t that big and there’s not enough room in them for the amount of people especially in Aug!
- If you’re in block G there is a small farm around the area and it does mean you will be woken up by the cockerel at 4am onwards
- Although they say pools shut at 6pm they don’t really, we stayed in till 8pm most night but it does mean you will get people jumping in at 1am drunk which happened to us. They ended up being next door to us and it was there first night, gave them 30mins but they were unbelievably loud and I had a baby so had to phone reception, in all fairness they came down and moved them out of the pool and thankfully they quietened down. But unless you call reception people will be in the pool till late.
We had a great 5 days, could have easily stayed longer as Cala Bona is beautiful! As is Cala Millor which is very close by.
I would go self catering again as so many restaurants to choose from and I didn’t think they were to pricey! Stanley’s is great for breakfast & most of the spars you can get fresh made baguettes at lunch for €3.
Not sure I’ll come again in August, June/July might be a bit quieter, it was just manic and full of families/kids, which is what to be expected I guess.

Exceeded our expectations
Firstly we were on a budget for this trip and I worried about the quality of the hotel given the price paid. I need not have worried. Such great value for money!
Downsides, be aware there's no pool towels or hairdryer in room. That's the only two things missing, everything else was great.
Food, very decent and free lollies all day. Service/staff superb. Rooms clean and spacious. Beds a bit hard but we got used to them.
Location spot on, quiet but at the centre/beach in 5-10 mins flat walk.
Pools excellent if busy. Sunbeds, although people put towels on early we never failed to get them but the bigger pool was busiest, need to get down early.
Entertainment, brilliant. The kids were well catered for. Loved the stage area. Staff really worked hard.
