A wonderful stay in the middle of the nature of Asturias
Due to the slightly higher altitude, Tresgrandas is often quite cool, especially in the morning and evening, and sometimes foggy. The village belongs to the municipality of Llanes and lies between the Cantabrian Sea and the high mountain range of the Picos.
The personal care by the nice couple Rosalina and Alberto were a highlight for us. We had interesting conversations in Spanish - so I could practice my Spanish a bit - and were spoiled with local delicacies at breakfast and dinner by you. Alberto was in charge of breakfast daily and brought us freshly squeezed orange juice, very good jams and homemade corn and spelt bread, which we particularly liked. In the evening Rosalina cooked small dishes or there were nice cheese, salad and Iberico plates served. And of course there is the famous sidre, from in-house production, which is poured in a very special way....
The Posada is quite convenient for various excursions in the area. We liked Llanes very much, including Comillas, which is a little further east. Beautiful beaches (Playa Franca, Dunas des Oyambre) , sights like Covadonga that were not so crowded at our time of travel, and much more impressed us.
A more relaxing holiday in beautiful nature can not be desired!

A Gem of an Experience
Valleoscuru is surrounded by gardens, a small organic garden and an oak and chestnut forest.
Upon arrival we were greeted by Rosalina, who, along with her husband Alberto, are warm and friendly hosts. They opened the Hotel at the end of 1999. after they decided to get into the world of cider making.
Our room (one of 11), had a lovely view over the nearby mountains and a veranda with which you could sit and enjoy the beautiful verdant scenery.
After settling in with our cases, Rosalina made us a cup of tea with home made chocolate cake. She can speak a fair amount of English, but it helped that my husband can speak some Spanish.
We learnt that Rosalina and Alberto were producers of organic cider from their apple orchards. A cider press is next to the hotel which can be visited. The orchard is an important base of all the flavours we tasted during our stay. Alberto works in the garden within the hotel grounds and in a nearby farm to make sure the best seasonal produce is available to offer in the restaurant.
Our evening meal was at 8pm, where I chose home made courgette soup followed by some ham croquettes. My husband was, of course, anxious to taste the organic cider!
After a good night’s sleep with some heavy overnight rain we woke up for our 8.30 breakfast which was amazing! Natural orange juice, coffee, yoghurt, home made jams made from seasonal fruit, toasted bread served with fresh crushed tomato, Serrano ham, virgin olive oil, cakes and home made sweets. Spoilt for choice!
Although Rosalina and Alberto don’t usually do lunch they arranged to leave us a selection of cheeses and bread as they had to go out. We were able to make tea/coffee in the small bar where other drinks were available. We had decided to have a restful day, after taking a look around the village.
We had a most enjoyable stay and would certainly not hesitate to recommend to others. A comfortable, relaxing stay surrounded by mountains and meadows, a haven for walkers and a short distance to the Llanes beach. as well as other attractions.

Pleasantly surprised
The facilities are very good and the treatment is entirely familiar. The bed was large and comfortable.
Also noteworthy is the treatment received by the marriage both for orientations in the area and for the rest of Cantabria.
A review: The owner makes the bread himself, and I must say that since we liked it so much I asked him where they bought it. A total hit.

Excellent accommodation and service.
Rosalina and Alberto made us feel at home.
Every day they gave us recommendations to make and they were very successful.
The perfect room, super comfortable mattress and everything super clean.
And to highlight the breakfasts, very complete and delicious.
We will repeat without a doubt.
