Compassion and Class at Baker House 1650

Neva and I absolutely love staying at Baker House 1650 in East Hampton. This was our second visit (we stayed here last year as well), and it continues to impress.
The staff is professional, warm, and genuinely welcoming. The décor throughout the property has a beautiful old-school charm that makes the entire experience feel special. One of our favorite touches — they actually have real newspapers available to read… love that. The rooms are gorgeous, and the bedding is extremely comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was also very nice.
At the beginning of our second day, around 2:45 PM, while we were sitting in the library by the beautiful fireplace, we received the devastating news that Neva’s mom had suddenly passed away at 95 years old.
We informed Katherine at the front desk that we needed to leave due to the circumstances. The response from the Baker House team was truly heartfelt. They were incredibly understanding and caring. As we were leaving the property, they stopped us and gave us a comfort bag with water, hot tea, and chocolate — such a thoughtful gesture during a very difficult moment.
Shortly after, we also received a personal email from management offering their condolences and letting us know they would credit the final day of our stay toward a future visit.
Baker House 1650 went above and beyond our expectations — not just in hospitality, but in genuine human kindness.
Thank you for being so understanding and thoughtful. We look forward to returning next year

Comfortably perfect

The Baker House was the rare place I found to be very tastefully decorated and appointed in every regard. A lover of colonial decor, I appreciated the genuine quality of what must have been a labor of love! I hope to return often - particularly in October when East Hampton is less crowded than it is during the summer months.

The Best in East Hampton!

The Baker House is the terrific! I love it! It is in a wonderful location in East Hampton and the best place to stay. All the rooms are unique and different. Everything on the property is beautiful - the grounds, pools, rooms and common areas. The two pools are lovely. Breakfast is delicious and the servers are friendly and accommodating. Housekeeping is terrific as well. The staff at the front desk is warm and welcoming. The owner Antonella is very nice. Always love staying here. Looking forward to another visit.

Things have changed…

I visited this place with a girlfriend of mine and we just ended up feeling like an inconvenience the whole time. The staff barely regarded us and didn’t acknowledge simple requests like may we have some glassware or small fan for our room since the Air Conditioning was not effectively cooling. We asked for a tour of the spa and the front desk couldn’t find someone (anyone on the property) to take us to the basement to let us look at it. It was just a very strange girls trip, regardless of how pretty the house looks, I’d also like an experience/stay to match that.

An Beautiful Place to Stay

The Baker House 1650 in East Hampton is just an amazing bed and breakfast experience. It's an old house from 1600's with all the old world charm. If you want to have a massage or the private pool make an appointment and reserve your private time. The rooms are quite beautiful and offer a lot of charm and all the necessities. They offer delicious breakfast each morning, The staff is extremely friendly and helpful.
