Although the building is a bit dated, the overall atmosphere is warm and cozy. The room was on the smaller side, but it was spotless. The staff were very friendly, and overall there was really nothing to complain about. The only thing that could be improved was the AC system.

104' and the pool was CLOSED. Come on! They should've called all reservation holders to let them know so we could explore other properties. Oy vey! Other than that the rooms were nice.

I chose the Historic Dow Hotel because of its location and historic character, but unfortunately my stay fell short of expectations.
Upon arrival, we discovered that our room had only one bed despite our reservation being for two beds. This created an immediate inconvenience, and the staff was unable to provide a satisfactory solution.
The most significant issue, however, was the lack of air conditioning. The room was uncomfortably warm during our stay, making it difficult to rest. While I understand that historic properties may have limitations, guests should be aware that comfort amenities are not comparable to those found in more modern accommodations.
I also found the staff to be largely unhelpful when concerns were raised. Rather than providing alternatives or making a meaningful effort to address the issues, the response felt indifferent.
The hotel has historic charm and a convenient location, but the combination of an incorrect room assignment, lack of air conditioning, and poor customer service resulted in a disappointing experience. Based on this stay, I would not choose to stay here again.

The room was very quaint. Small but had all one needed. Very clean. Enjoyed the history artifacts.

It was clean enough. There was a long hair in the tub and a dead bug on the floor, but that happens, it's not a big deal. The front desk cheerfully upgraded my room when I found that it did not have a toilet or shower. The room was tiny, but charming. There was a sink in the room, tucked in a nook, but no counter space, no outlet, and poor lighting. ("I guess I'll go au natural today. ") Sleeping was difficult because it was hot and stuffy, with a singular vent in the wall by the criminal. No fan. If I had to guess, I would say it was 80⁰ through the night. Made me want to leave. Overall the hotel was charming, but I probably wouldn't stay again.
