My husband and I travelled over from Scotland to visit our daughter who was working in a summer camp about 40 min drive from the hotel.
We wanted somewhere that was within easy reach of restaurants, shops and close enough to take our daughter back to camp the following evening.
Our daughter stayed for 1 night, we stayed for 2 nights. (3rd-5th August)
Check in was easy and staff were very helpful.
We booked 2 separate rooms. (Both king rooms)
Both rooms were extremely clean and spacious.
The rooms had everything we needed, Large fridge, safe, coffee machine, water, hairdryer and a lovely powerful shower.
The beds were extremely comfortable.
Large windows. We overlooked the university playing field. There are blackout blinds to ensure a good night sleep.
We ate outside of the hotel in the evenings so can’t comment on the evening meals.
We did sit in the bar area (trax) on the first night. Again staff were very helpful, friendly and courteous.
On the day my husband and I checked out, we had a coffee and a croissant in the station cafe. Waiter was very helpful.
This is a beautiful hotel with lots of original features.
We have never visited Scranton or anywhere in Pennsylvania before however I hope someday that we have a reason to visit again as we would not hesitate to stay in this hotel.

Front desk staff was great! Parking is NOT free, even tho they own the parking lot. Breakfast was expensive for what you get. We were also told the airport shuttle only runs on certain days and we booked this specific hotel for that reason. This trip we didn't need to use the shuttle, but we would have needed it the next trip. I would call to make sure the shuttle runs the day you need it BEFORE booking. Dinner restaurant was really good and staff was nice.

The hotel looks nice resembling historical hint with faint echoes from renaissance times. The room was spacious and clean but AC was quite loud which probably will make it more realistically feeling you are in the train station. But the most thought-provoking discovery was to find out that this hotel is legitimately hunted… I never been interested in such things until I experienced some stuff by myself in this hotel like hearing baby laughing bring in my bed with my ear plugs in. I didn't freak out cos I thought it was just in my head or smth, but looking around in the hall way and those vintage benches near the elevator are giving those kinda chill feelings. Anyway, whoever inspired by spooky and thrills that could be the right place to come. More over there was a morgue on the basement in old times and probably some other stuff…

Such a beautiful piece of history! This hotel was just as beautiful as in the pictures. Room was clean and very spacious. I sprung for the jacuzzi room since it was my birthday and it didn't disappoint. Breakfast was delicious. Would definitely stay there again!
