The ugly service, the hotel very much so

There was a trouble in the hotel: a young man came out (the owner's son, who works in the electronics lava next door, most likely if the owner had been there, we would have decided somehow, but it was obvious that the young man did not care about the guests), who informed us that our reservation was not there and that he had no idea about our arrival and that they did not work with trips at all. OK, they gave out the internet, but they didn't even offer to sit in the heat, we went into the yard ourselves a little later and sat on the benches in front of the main body. Trip support promised to contact a partner in Ceylon and went into nirvana, two hours later Russian support advised that we could book and check in to another hotel, and in this they would issue a cancellation. We were tired and decided to check into this hotel, especially since the owner had already arrived and the hotel was empty. We looked at the room, selected on the ground floor with air conditioning, paid for the accommodation and moved in (good thing we took a receipt for the payment right away).
By the evening, the trip's tech team had informed us that if we paid more, we would be compensated for the difference, OK, they had sent them a receipt, but it turned out to be a little cheaper on the spot and breakfast was also included.
Then the trip dumbed down and wrote that the hotel had found our reservation, the trip had information that we were checked in and said they had no right to charge us a second time. When asked what now, tech dumbed down for another 24 hours and pleased me with options like money back to you probably the owner will. Thank God the next day I called the Russian trip operator, who accepted our application the day before, described the situation once again: that we were informed from the doorstep that our armor was not available, that trip allowed us to check in, we paid for the accommodation and moved in. And that we only checked in because we paid cash, not because we supposedly found our reservation. And what the trip called in the chat room as "the hotel found your reservation and you checked in" was a tainted phone, because the owner said that the trip partner called and he told them that we checked in and he saw our reservation with the trip, but did nothing because the partner did not transfer the prepayment to him (as the trip confirmed the reservation to us, threw his partner or there are linings, hz). The Russian cameraman took note, the trip booking was cancelled immediately.
Of course, in the description of the situation there are questions for the host and tripe. Trip works through a partner who underperformed, and trip's support for 24 hours was a pain.
The owner saw the booking coming and decided to do nothing, because if you decide not to work with trip com, you have to close the booking option, and just sit on your ass and think that somehow it will dissipate is not an option. The owner's son also pretended that the situation was none of his business, like deal with it yourself, though he could at least tell ayayay what a trouble, sit down, deal with it. And that's despite the fact that the hotel was empty all three days we were here.
Now the hotel itself.
From the bus station to the hotel about 2 km, you can walk. The convenience of the location is that the hotel, like almost all hotels in this city, stands by the main road which takes buses to Sigiriya and the temple in Dambul and further - to Kandy. I mean, you're out of the hotel and you're waiting for the pass, conveniently. There are food shops on this street, sometimes the locals sell papayas from cars.
As I wrote, the hotel is by the road, which makes it quite noisy during the day, but to be fair, all the hotels in the city are so located. The rooms are located in a building deep in the courtyard, the building stands side by side to the road, so the noise does decrease. the rooms are all different, you need to look. The owner's son first offered us a room without air conditioning and a kettle, claiming it was a junior suite, but I insisted on seeing more rooms.
I don't know who all these people are who give the hotel good marks. Asking where the towels are in the room. Can I get you some towels? Yeah, bring it. Brings one. Why, do you need the other one? No, we'll be alone for three days.

Then they carried toilet paper.
Then it turned out that the bed was stained, I asked for a replacement, the delegation and the host came to check and assured me that they were doing the laundry. I've seen them dry it out - hang it in the yard, and there's a road on one side, a tire mount on the other, all the dust flying. Totals changed.
One outlet in the room. The internet is very weak and works intermittently.
Very pleasant breakfast: freshly squeezed juice, fruit, omelet, toast.

Great guest houseand amazing hosts

The room was very clean and nice, AC worked very good and the hot water in the shower too.
The location of the guest house is good, all buses go through there and there is a nice pub right next to it.
But the best part was the amazing family that hosted us, they took care of everything we needed and looked after us, they also took us to a nice cheap tour and drove us with his tuktuk with no charge to the golden temple.
More over the host is a great cook, tasting his sri lankan breakfast and rice&curry is a must!
Highly recommended!

wonderful stay

My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights where we accessed the kaudella national park through Nehal the owner of the guesthouse, we walked up pidurangala to see sigiyria and also went to a 1 day test cricket match. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Good access to activities yet away from most tourists. we were away from the bustling shopping area of dambulla but that worked for us. we were closer to local eateries ( shacks on the side of the road) which we much prefer and much cheaper.
definitely recommend staying here.

Feeling at home

We spent three nights in Dambulla at the Takeshi Inn. From the beginning we had a good feeling about the place and our host. He is very helpful in advising places to see and how to get there. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the backyard- garden is a shady and quiet place to hang out for breakfast. To start your daytour you can catch the bus in front of the hotel or rent a motorbike at the Takeshi Inn. We can absolutely recommand it.
