Dinner that tasted incredibly good.

We anchored up by sailing boat on the beautiful Mayreau, at the long sandy beach in the bay. Up the hill and on the right we found Dennis's restaurant. We were greeted with big smiles, ordered a rumpunsh and sat down talking to Dennis and his older brother for a long time. Since it is still low season we were the only guests. We were given the opportunity to choose between seafood (fish and lobster) or meat dishes. We picked the fish and Dennis disappeared into the kitchen. Then the brother began to tell about the hurricane that hit the island 1.5 years ago, life on the island etc. It's so great to have stories.
The food was served and it tasted magical. Great, juicy fish, well balanced with spices, fried potatoes, also sweet potatoes and a really good salad. We would love to visit this place several times!

Good food at this guesthouse in Mayreau

A pleasant guesthouse on the laid-back island of Mayreau. It's a short walk up the hill from the port. Although I had booked in advance (and actually spoken to the owner), he didn't seem to be expecting me. No matter! The accommodation was good. There was a balcony but I was being bitten by mosquitos within minutes of sitting out there - even at 08:30 in the morning. Fortunately, inside there was air conditioning (though no mosquito netting over the bed) and switching that on seemed to solve the problem. The swimming pool was filthy but the wi-fi worked. The food in the restaurant was good. There was a fridge in my room but no cooker. Breakfast could be obtained nearby. It's well worth forking out to visit nearby Tobago Cays and swim with turtles and rays.

Perfect restaurant

Perfect dinner with fresh produce. Clean kitchen and toilets! The mayor knows a lot about the island, a really worthwhile visit! Don't eat from the barbecues on the beach, go to Dennis's!

Caribbean Gem

We loved it here - up the main road of Mayreau with breath taking views. Great ambience in the pool and bar area, perfect for relaxing after a busy day in the cays!
The staff were great, the food amazing and Dennis is a fantastic host. Lovely to meet him (and some of his family) and chill by the bar. We really enjoyed our stay!

It truly is a serene Hideaway

Dennis ' Hideaway is in the middle of beautiful Mayreau, but is surrounded by various magnificent trees, which gives you the impression to be secluded and nicely tucked away, while still being close to everything. Our host, Dennis was amazing, he has so many interesting stories about him travelling the world. He is not only an incredible cook, but also is attentive and thoughtful, kind and funny! We loved our stay with him and can't wait to return. Thank you Dennis for your gracious hospitality.
