Great hotel in the center of Jönköping.
Close to everything. Parking was a bit tricky though.

This hotel is old and has a lot of issues. If you have allergies, do not stay here as it is dusty and musty. It is also not properly accessible. When you enter, there is a long flight of steps up to the reception. It has a lift which is usually not useable and you have to ask staff for help. Similarly, the breakfast is on the second floor and you can not take an elevator up. You can get off there on the way down from your room. But then you have to take a long winding staircase down to access the elevator. The breakfast was mediocre but okay. My room had no fridge or safe and not enough outlets including none by the bed. There were no modern charging stations that many hotels have. The front desk closes at 10pm and opens at 8am so if you have any needs during that time, such as the lift or a medical emergency, you’re out of luck. They also failed to clean my room one day. My room featured a shower that wets the whole floor, which admittedly did have fabulous in floor heating. But I came back to a pile of damp towels. The front desk told me the room had been cleaned at first but then replaced my damp towels. The staff were kind and helpful. I heard when I was checking out that there was a spa advertised online in their materials but there was no mention of it by staff or signage in the lobby or elevator.

Rooms have been renovated, and are very smart with the latest beds (configurable hard/soft in two zones), TV with chromecast, and smart bathrooms. The building looks quite grand and the corridors speak of old-world riches.
Had booked twin beds through Hotels.com but got given double - but the reception re-made the beds as twins and solved the problem.
The location is very central, which is convenient, but there can be street noise during the night - so having the windows open is probably not a good idea.

Did not feel safe

Room ok but a bit sloppy stale smell. Nice with beds where the hardness could be set.
The reception's commitment had more to be desired.
Could not answer questions if there was charging place in Pgaraget as recommended (195kr) With hindsight you can stand for FREE in the square next to ..
despite uncertainty at check-in o bad wifi to the card reader so it was double charging, the receptionist answered the phone and cursed himself that it was the boss Lisa who called … sure we’re just standing here checking in … by all means
On the day of departure we have the room until 11.
My husband had an errand so he went out a little before me at 9.30.
Then, without knocking, my door unlocks and in comes the cleaning staff, I was only half dressed and it did not feel ok.
At the check out I pointed this out and the only thing the receptionist said: oh my… just… maybe cleaning AFTER the guests checked out. Very uncomfortable!
Will we stay here again… no.
