Relaxed coming home in a beautiful environment and with lovely people

Top location (especially if you want a stopover on the way from the Netherlands to Italy and vice versa. We have been coming there for at least 10 years now and the hotel is improving itself every time. The people are sweet and welcoming. The hotel has a beautiful terrace where you can eat fantastic. Has quality! The service is top notch. ( Make a reservation because every day it is practically full! (If you continue to Italy: after breakfast drive away at 7 am and you avoid a traffic jam in front of the Gotthard tunnel.). In Eich, hotel Sonne, your holiday starts

Beautiful and peaceful location

This is a lovely hotel in a beautiful and peaceful location.
The staff are helpful, polite and friendly.
We had a lake view room with an incredible view, it was wonderful to sit here although it’s disappointing that smoking is allowed on the balconies as we did have to put up with the fumes from a room nearby.
We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant on the terrace, the food was outstanding.
There is a small supermarket across the road if you need any basic goods, lovely service in there too!
The nearby village of Sempach is worth
visiting as it is also gorgeous.
Car parking is right outside and included with your stay. Breakfast was simple but enjoyable.

Dreamy location, very beautiful building, perfect rooms, pleasant service, fine food - we could spend weeks here:-)

Simply a great experience, combined with cycling and swimming!

We had booked the "Velo Route 99" package and were thrilled. Attentive and very friendly staff. Room sufficiently large and clean. Food was fantastic, plus the great location on the terrace with a view of the lake. The breakfast was absolutely amazing! Leaves nothing to be desired. We would love to come back. 5 out of 5 stars!!

Fantastic hotel in the quiet location of Eich

This was an ideal stopover for us (1 night), it was exactly what we were looking for, out of the main towns, quiet lake side location, easy off street and secure parking. The hotel is very well set up for conferences, family gatherings, weddings etc but also catered well for just the 2 of us travelling with our large dog. Dog friendly in most areas (not in restaurant - but that's fine with us - and understandable for the dining pleasure of others too). The room was a little small but was perfectly formed, offering us everything we needed. It had a good size balcony, which looked over the car park. I think an upgrade to a room with a lake view is probably worth it. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. There are fast elevators, which are great when you have a lot of luggage. The hotel is very modern and stylishly decorated. We had an evening meal in the hotel restaurant and it was fantastic! The starter ravioli dish was a complete winner and then the roast lamb for mains was delicious! Great wine choices and we enjoyed our first Swiss Merlot-Pinot that was from a local vineyard only 6kms up the road. Lovely indoor and outdoor area for dining. Looked to be very popular with the locals (which is always a good sign). Great breakfast too, hot and cold options. My husband is a keen road cyclist and did a lovely 20km flat ride round the lake from the hotel, which he enjoyed. Overall a very relaxing stay. The only downside and not something that the hotel can control and that was that there was a lot of flies (probably being near a lake). It meant we werent really able to sit out on the balcony.
