Amazing (!!) place to be
Disclaimer: this is not a “subsidized” or “fake” review! Having come every year for 23 years to Thailand, this is sincere:
The Koh Tao Cabana is a phenomenal resort. I’d give it six stars! Not just the setting, or the amazing and tastefully arranged villas and cottages. Or the fantastic dining choices, an opulent breakfast menu (included), or an all included and daily replenished minibar.
What makes this place so great is the amazing staff. Attentive, supportive, immediately responding to any request/desire!
You can sent the front desk any question, or challenge by WhatsApp and they immediately reply, and/or action on your query!
The stop on Koh Tao was meant as a mere short excursion from Samui. A change of scenery. The Koh Tao Cabana and their team made us regret having only planned 3 nights and have ensured that we will come back for an extended stay. And only here!!

Amazing Stay!!
Loved our stay as Koh Tao Cabanas. Staff were amazing and our villa was stunning right on the beach. It was all the little extras that make it so special. The only reason I did not give it a 5 was the breakfast variety was not that great and the massage was really bad.

Salmonella Food Poisoning - DO NOT STAY
We booked the Honeymoon Villa with Private Pool at Koh Tao Cabana as the final and most special part of our honeymoon. Instead, it turned into one of the worst travel experiences we have ever had.
During our stay, my wife became seriously ill and required emergency medical treatment at a local clinic, including overnight care and IV fluids. Following our return to the UK, medical testing confirmed Salmonella infection. Our 8-month-old son also became unwell and subsequently tested positive for Salmonella.
We had eaten exclusively at the hotel during our stay meaning the Salmonella infection was caused by the food provided by the hotel. During our stay we also saw numerous rats around the kitchen area.
The illness completely ruined the end of our honeymoon. Rather than enjoying the resort we had paid a premium for, our time was spent dealing with illness, medical treatment and recovery. We were forced to leave earlier than planned and stay over night in hospital and lost valuable time from what was supposed to be a special trip.
Koh Tao Cabana management have handled the situation afterwards extremely poorly and we are very disappointing. We provided medical evidence, explained the circumstances in detail and attempted to resolve the matter directly and professionally. After receiving all the medical information the hotel has now stopped responding altogether to our emails and WhatsApp messages.
What is most frustrating is not just what happened, but the complete lack of accountability afterwards. A reputable hotel should take a situation involving serious illness and confirmed Salmonella infection extremely seriously. Instead, we have been ignored.
Potential guests should be aware not only of our experience, but also of how the resort dealt with a formal complaint once it was raised. We expected far better from a hotel positioning itself as a premium honeymoon destination. There are other reviews of the hotel with similar situations to ours where they have caused food poisoning to other guests and not taken accountability.

High music for 02.00
It's a pity that Koh Tao has become a party island, all nature is destroyed by party people who don't care about nature
The hotel is located perfectly, staff in the restaurant are friendly, breakfast food is ok, without being anything special. Water clean by the hotel. Staff at the front desk not so welcoming. You need to walk 10 min to get to dining areas from the hotel. There is loud music from morning till breakfast, then loud music starts on the beach, they have to silence the music at 00.00 and turn off at 02:00 but they just forget it. We stayed here 5 days and slept only after 2:00 every night.

Beautiful located tropical cabanas
Super beautiful excellently located hotel in the best end of the beach.
Cabanas are spacious and nicely decorated. The restaurant are among the best we tried and drinks equally so. Very friendly and service oriented staff.
Limited noice from the clubs in the nearby city
