Bordering on perfection.

Lovely house. Wonderful hostess who clearly loves her roles .
The dogs were enthusiastic. Loved the breakfast, unusual not to have a fry up but was delicious. A building with real heritage.
Dedicated bathrooms per room which were perfect.

Takes dog friendly to another level!

I’d like to start by saying I am a huge animal lover, I adore dogs, just not when I’m eating.
My partner and I along with our 8 month old ate at the cafe today. The food was very yummy and good value, the service was quick and friendly……. But then there was the dogs. The big black dog spent most of its time going under peoples tables looking for crumbs and licking my baby’s feet. I also witnessed on several occasions the black dog and little grey scotty type dog go into the kitchen area.
It’s a shame because it’s a lovely place and the shop is fantastic, but I feel the owners should understand that not everyone appreciates dogs around them when they’re trying to eat. My partner and I weren’t the only ones who felt this, we heard two other tables grumble about the dogs and try to shoo them away.

Peaceful and beautiful

Arrived at the stunning b&b Thursday afternoon, the village is so quiet and picturesque. We were given a warm welcome by Liz but before our departure, we were sent lots of useful information, eating places, taxis etc. Walked to The Fauconberg less than 5 minutes up the road. We ate late lunch here, so impressive we booked our evening meal there too. The village community feel was very friendly and welcoming. Our breakfast at Rumah prepared by Liz was nothing short of amazing. Fresh fruit, muesli, creamy yogurts, croissant, fresh baked bread, and more. We were only there for 2 nights but I really didn't want to leave. I felt so away from the hustle and bustle of a busy working life. Quick tip, if arriving at night, make sure you have a torch or phone torch as there are no street lights, we went to a concert at Castle Howard and couldn't see a thing when we got back late. Gorgeous find in Coxwold ......

A delightful find, so welcoming by the owner. Called as we were driving through the village. Very pretty, gorgeous cake and coffee, lovely gift shop too, great for cards and Christmas gifts. We shared a nice sized home-made carrot cake, which was light and totally delicious. Would highly recommend if you're out that way.

Rumah Home: a great place to stop for refreshments & a warm welcome received.

We stopped only for a drink & a light snack. We were made to feel very welcome & the drinks were very good; my hot chocolate especially was the best I’ve tasted in a long time. I had a gluten free brownie which was divine & my husband had a peach Bakewell tart. So different & he enjoyed every mouthful. We cannot recommend it highly enough. They also have a beautiful shop too but we were short of time so didn’t stop to peruse. Thank you to the 2 lovely ladies who served us.
