Wonderful birthday weekend!

Came here to say with my husband and 3 year old for the weekend to celebrate my birthday. We had a great time, the location is beautiful, rooms very clean and comfortable and the staff were so nice and friendly even from the point I booked online and had some questions. Everyone was super helpful and also very patient and kind to my toddler :) shoutout to Evalina who was our server when we had afternoon tea! She was so lovely to us and of course the tea and food very delicious.
Highly recommended!

Our flight was cancelled and we were able to get a room at the last minute. It turned out to be a very happy detour as the staff were over-the-top according, the grounds were beautiful and peaceful and the food was top-notch. I would welcome the opportunity to be “stranded” here again with pleasure!

Exceptional Setting, Disappointing Details

The location and hotel itself are exceptional, and there is a lot to admire about Tylney Hall. Unfortunately, a number of details during our stay left us feeling genuinely disappointed, particularly given the standard and price of the hotel.
The bed in our room had two separate mattresses, which made for a very uncomfortable night and, ultimately, a sleepless night for all the wrong reasons. For a hotel of this quality, I would expect the basics of a comfortable night's sleep to be a given.
The dining arrangements outside of the formal dining room were also disappointing. The low tables are not particularly comfortable for dining, and our experience around availability was frustrating. We were initially told that tables were available on a first-come, first-served basis, but when we tried to sit down, we were told that several empty tables were being kept available in case guests with a dog wanted to eat there. After escalating this with the hotel, we were eventually seated at precisely the table we had previously been told was being held for that reason. The inconsistency was frustrating and could have been avoided with clearer communication.
Finally, the pasta we ordered was very obviously reheated. At more than £25 per plate, this simply isn't acceptable, particularly at a hotel of this calibre.
Overall, it is disappointing because the setting, building and location are genuinely exceptional. With a hotel of this standard, it is the small details and consistency of service that should make the experience special, and unfortunately several of those details fell well short during our stay.

Excellent stay

Excellent through and through, staff, food, place, ambience, rooms nothing was too much trouble. Richard, Adam, Evelina were the perfect staff, polite, helpful.

Misleading

Be careful booking this hotel with small children. Website says they are free, but attempted to charge us £60 to bring a 6-month old for 1-night.
Receptionist did nothing but say it was their policy. Take your money elsewhere.
