Nice place at a good value for money

It is a nice lodge with a wonderful view. Don't expect too much luxury since it is a kind of high standard youth hostel, however, with a good value for money. We liked being in the kitchen and the lounge, meeting other people. The views from the breakfast table are breathtaking. The kitchen floor and the fridges could have been cleaner, however, the room was immaculate.
The walls between the rooms were paper-thin, which we didn't mind too much since there weren't many guests. We missed a direct contact to the owners who live next door.

Hostel accommodation, musty smell.

A very poor experience. The setting and views are amazing but the accommodation is of a poor standard, It is basically a hostel. The room we were allocated smelt musty and damp, as did the dark corridor on entry to the downstairs rooms (a lamp is kept on all day). Bedding and mattress was of poor quality and old. It was awful, we stayed 1 night out of necessity and packed up to leave. We complained and the owner arrived to see us, we were given a full refund but there was no other suitable accommodation available on Mull. We had to return to the mainland with our much anticipated trip to Iona abandoned. So disappointing.

Perfect budget accommodation on Mull

We absolutely loved our stay at Arle lodge. It was exactly as described and suited our needs perfectly. Having a kitchen area was really handy for making breakfast, packed lunches and dinner, if you want to travel on a budget. We ended up meeting some great people while using the communal space too. I read the reviews about the thin walls before going, and while this was true, everyone staying was very respectful (I did go prepared with ear plugs just incase). We would definitely stay here next time we visit Mull.

Bad experience

It’s a hostel for old folks and not very clean . Very thin walls. No sleep could hear deep breathing never mind snoring! Wasn’t good and wouldn’t recommend at all. The views are lovely and good parking

It was Ok

Room was too small for us.Paper thin walls,you can hear everything! We happened to have a neighbour who coughed all night.so not much sleep for uslovely friendly cleaning lady.make sure if you have any disability walking you ask for a downstairs room.i didn't but was lucky enough to be the 1st room at the top of the stairs with toilet next door.

Hi there, sorry to hear you felt your room was too small, we have many different sizes of rooms (our biggest being 20 metres square).
I shall let my mother in law (the cleaning lady) know about your nice comment.
We do have a room on the ground floor that can accommodate a wheelchair, hopefully you might book this next time.
