Beautiful location and stay

Very nice and friendly place. Breakfast was great. Location was superb and in walking distance to a beach. Just beside the beach is a large pub overlooking the bay. Such a beautiful place. Would have stayed longer but pushed for time. Staff very helpful and pleasant.

The Mill House price quoted for cooked breakfasts.Cooked evening meals were stated to be available. We had booked for 2 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary at a quiet remote hotel.On arrival we were asked for immediate payment which we provided by credit card. Once our payment had been processed we were handed a room key and told where to find the room and only then were we told that breakfast would be just “continental” each morning as there was no chef. We asked about evening meals and we were told that there would not be any. We are in our 80s and were shocked and upset. It was mid afternoon and in a remote location in Cornwall. After assessing our options we requested a refund. The response was not pleasant. The woman said she would give a refund because she could not be bothered with having an argument. Processing the refund took some time. It is not possible to access this hotel by turning right because it is at a very narrow very acute angle at a sharp slope. The whole experience was unpleasant and very stressful. We had to find alternative accommodation quickly in late afternoon which ended up in a town high street 7 miles away.

Needs a good clean

Lovely property which was full of character.
The staff were very attentive.
The food was good.
However.
My room was dirty. No other word for it.
There was an old shirt behind the chair and a half bar of chocolate in the drawer. Every surface was filthy.
The skirtings were so dusty - which - lets be honest is human skin. The bathroom walls by the sink had scummy runs on them and all the fittings were covered in old soap. Not good.
This place is beautiful but the housekeeping needs inspection.
This was.room 1
I would.come back.but only with a deep clean.

Great value stay in a super friendly pub B&B. Lovely location for exploring the area, we'll definitely be back

Lovely place - why haven't we been before ?

Although we live locally we have always gravitate to Port William for the view and make allowances for the service but we kept saying we would go here one day.
So pleased we did, the staff we so friendly and the Sunday roast was excellent - so tasty and more than enough for a plated roast. It was also slightly different in that the meat was rolled - very well cooked and the gravy was to die for.
We didn't sit in the restaurant as we had a dog, but we could see that was nice and airy. Plenty of parking and in a lovely location.
We may not have had the view of The Port William but we had far better service and a much friendlier welcome - we will be back for sure.
