Perfect 1 night stop over

Lovely warm welcome,
Very comfy bed,
Clean,
Lovely cooked breakfast included
served by a happy member of staff.
Easy parking too.

Not great

We managed to park, which was a bonus.
When you enter the place, you're immediately hit by the smell of cooking, grease, and the heat. We stayed in Room 5, which had been recently decorated. The room was clean, and tea and coffee were provided.
Unfortunately, we didn't get much sleep as the heat and smell were unbearable. I understand this is an old venue, but the window only opens part way and overlooks the high street. We were given a fan and, when I asked, reluctantly given a second. This did little to help, and our night's sleep was awful.
We went down for breakfast in the morning, and it wasn't great. The sausage was of poor quality, and the egg was greasy and unappetising.
Our room cost £102, and we didn't feel it was good value for money. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and wouldn't stay here again.

Lovely Lunch.

Popped in here for lunch and it is a stunning place with many original features of being built in 1550, the restaurant is nice and cosy very clean and the staff are lovely, I had the trio of sausages with mash and onion gravy it was delicious, I couldn't eat it all as you get a very generous portion, my partner had cajun chicken pasta and garlic bread said his was also delicious, drinks and food reasonably priced if ever in Wareham again we will return here.

Very good stay

We had stayed here several years ago when visiting family. We liked it so much we decided to stay again. It is centrally located on the High Street. You can park outside from 18:00-09:00hrs, or there is a public car park over the road, free from 18:00-08:30.
It is a very old building with some uneven levels but this just adds to the character. The rooms are a reasonable size, very well maintained and clean. The beds are comfortable and it is very quiet.
The breakfast was very well cooked and was very enjoyable.
The staff are friendly, efficient and very helpful.
Will come back again.

AVOID

Avoid, the food is terrible. Frozen roast potatoes, chicken was tough, the Duck you couldn't get a knife through it let alone try and chew it, frozen veg not fresh. Service was very unorganised and slow by the young lad working, i dont know if he was new to the job? No one asked if our meals were ok etc just interested in payment A real shame, there no empty plates at our table, left very disappointed. Lesson learned, there are a lot better places to eat in the town
