Great hostel! Would recommend.
We visited for St Paddy’s Day and I have nothing bad to say. The hostel was a short walk from Temple Bar, the room was clean, quiet and comfortable.
A selection of hot and cold foods were available for breakfast and the venue put on some fun events in the evenings. Live-band karaoke was great!

Brilliant start basic improvement and safety aspects need serious attention
I stayed at Jacobs Inn Dublin in 2026 for my first ever visit, and let me start with the most important thing: the rooms were spotless. Like, “mom would approve” clean. Fresh bedding, tidy bathrooms, no mystery smells — honestly top tier for a hostel. Cleanliness is my main priority when I travel, and they absolutely nailed it.
Now let’s talk about reception — because WOW. The staff were fantastic day and night. Whether I needed directions, recommendations, or just reassurance that I hadn’t completely messed up my travel plans, they were friendly, helpful, and genuinely welcoming. 10/10 humans.
The social side? Elite. We had a chaotic but legendary game of Jenga that somehow turned into karaoke… which then turned into a full party night. I came for a bed, I left with a voice hoarse from singing and at least five new “best friends.” The vibe when it’s good? It’s GOOD.
Now to keep it real.
The bar area, unfortunately, wasn’t in the same sparkling condition as the rooms. It felt like it needed more regular cleaning and attention, especially after busy nights. The breakfast was also a bit disappointing — some of it tasted stale, like it had been waiting for a second chance at life.
And then… the grand finale. On my last day, I managed to get a small electric shock from a faulty socket. Nothing dramatic, I’m still here to write this review, but definitely something that needs urgent fixing for safety reasons.
Despite all that — and I know that sounds wild — I would actually return. The cleanliness of the rooms and the incredible reception staff made a huge difference. The atmosphere has so much potential, and if the bar maintenance, breakfast freshness, and that rogue socket get sorted, this place could easily be one of the best hostel stays in Dublin.
Would I come back to see if the issues have been resolved? Honestly… yes. Because when this place shines, it really shines.

It was great stay I'm vegan very less breakfast options but other than that all okay it was too hot in this time of year ( July) and only a few people got usb fans for their pods they ran out of stock but in this price point I believe the best available thing in Dublin city centre handy from all places

mixed feelings - disrespectful staff.
i have incredibly mixed reviews about this hostel. they have great rooms, the beds are so nice and so private. however, the service of the workers was absolutely horrible. my friend was very sick (due to a chronic illness) and the staff literally told her "the street is a nice place to sleep" because she threw up. the bartender was also repeatedly rude. other than the service, it was fairly nice. you have to pay 4 euro for a towel (despite it saying it was only 2 euro online) and you have to pay 1 euro for each disposable cup you get from the bar. the shower is AWFUL, you have to press a button to get water and it only stays on for 15 seconds at a time. the water isn't consistently hot or cold, it alternates with no pattern.
absolutely insanely disrespectful behavior to my friend. it isn't okay to tell someone that they should sleep on the street when they are sick. we even explained that she has chronic illnesses and they said things anyway. i understand that her crying and throwing up is annoying but they could've treated her with basic decency instead of being disrespectful and rude. one of the workers had the audacity to make comments on my friends diet and tell her that she's hurting herself from having pringles. insanely inappropriate.

The location is great, as the bus station is right at the corner, several bus stops nearby, and walkable distances to restaurants, grocery stores, and busy areas. The staff are all very helpful and polite. The pod in the female dormitory is at the right size; I really appreciate there are a handle, a hook, a small side panel, and a small, portable desk-size fan. They are sufficient for hostel stays. The bathroom inside the dorm is very clean; the shower room is also clean. Many thanks to the cleaning staff and to my roommates who helped and respected the environment.
