Helsinki upscale vibes
The hotel had upgraded the room to a lovely Junior Suite on the 9th floor but she didn’t mention this also. Little information was given and sadly in terms of first impressions that was disappointing.
The room was well appointed and clean, nicely designed and we had Club Lounge Access. There were crisps, nuts and sweet treats as well as soft drinks and hot drinks available at all times. From 6pm there was enough food put out for some people to eat a full meal, if that is your taste in food. Sadly it wasn’t ours.
We used the pool and sauna but the pool is quite cold and lacks any sort of jacuzzi and space to relax. The sauna I’m informed was naked and very hot.
Breakfast the next morning was okay, a range of options with either waffles or omelettes cooked fresh if you could track down a staff member. I’ve experienced much better Crowne Plaza breakfasts but the food was of a good quality and it was free to us as a welcome amenity.
Overall the hotel is well located, tram 2 or 4 takes you very quickly into the centre. There are some restaurants nearby and museums you can enjoy. I’d certainly stay again.

Large and quiet room, no road noise at all. Parking in the garage is a bit expensive and the spots are tiny but the garage was never full, so I never had an issue parking the rental car.
Front desk staff was great and so is the breakfast. It's worth it to spend the extra money for breakfast included (if youre a breakfast kind of person)
Only minor issue is the A/C is kind of weak (I visited in August) and turns off as soon as you pull the room key. Easily solved by getting a spare room key and leaving it in the slot so the AC runs all day while you are gone, then the room is plenty cool at night.

Fantastic from the first moment!
Fantastic great room, very pleased!
Lovely breakfast, spacious common areas and a good bar for a little nightcap.
Not enough to try the sauna, but this is something we will definitely do when we are back. Next time we go to Helsinki, we will stay at Crowne Plaza!
