Amazing service
We had a lovely 10-year anniversary getaway weekend! The hotel was clean and comfortable, the service amazing and the spa was a really great experience. The room was quiet and the bed super comfy - we slept really well ♥️

Really nice
Pet room was clean and comfy. The view from windows wasn't nice but we didn't expected that cuz it's old prison. The atmosphere in the old prison was exciting because it made you think about its history. The room’s TV had stories about the old prison, and they were very interesting to listen to. The breakfast at Ruben was really good.
The only downside was the very soft bed, and there wasn’t even a small refrigerator to keep your own drinks cold. We had to run cold water into the bathroom sink to cool the drinks a little.

Unique Concept, Disappointing Stay
Hotel Kakola is undeniably interesting, and its rich history as a former prison gives the property a truly unique character. We also greatly appreciated the flexibility of the staff, who kindly allowed us to check in an hour earlier than scheduled upon request.
Unfortunately, the room itself was a major disappointment. We were placed in an accessible room that, while clean and spacious, completely lacked warmth and atmosphere. It felt cold, stark, and plain, with a window facing nothing but a high brick wall. Getting an early check-in was a nice gesture, but the room was far below the standard we had booked and paid for.
This room experience really dampened our overall visit. While the historical concept is compelling, the lack of comfort makes this our first and last stay at Kakola.

However, I sincerely apologize that the room did not meet your expectations. Our accessible rooms are part of our standard rooms and they are equipped with same items as any other standard room. There are unfortunately not much we can do regarding the view as the brick walls around us are protected. Next time you visit us I recommend to leave a request to get a room from a higher floor. Not worth the price
As someone who stays in hotels frequently, I felt that the value for money was not quite there. We were traveling with a dog, so we stayed in the hotel's pet-friendly wing. While the separate, quiet entrance was a nice touch, it was quite impractical that we were completely isolated from the rest of the hotel, with no indoor access to the reception or other facilities. The room itself was ordinary, and the sofa was stained. Given the nearly €300 room rate including breakfast, I expected a more premium experience. Instead, the stay felt a standard hotel with a traditional breakfast offering. That said, the staff were excellent and the public areas of the hotel were also clean and well maintained. Despite these positive aspects, the overall experience did not quite meet the expectations set by the price, and the value for money felt disappointing.
