Average. Needs renovation

Mercure hotel with 66 rooms over 8 floors, located on a quiet street in the 15th arrondissement, an 8-minute walk from the Vaugirard and Volontaires metro stations (line 12). Privilege room on the 5th floor, attic-style and not very bright due to the small windows (or rather one window and a skylight), dark paint on one wall section, and low-power lighting, with an old-fashioned and dated look, featuring a double bed and a sofa bed. The general condition leaves something to be desired with damaged furniture (sofa bed and shelf). The bathroom also looks dated with its drop ceiling typical of the 80s and a bathtub that is certainly recent but equipped with an old shower screen. The shower is not a rain-effect shower and there is no magnifying mirror. A major renovation is necessary. Actually, apart from the mini-fridge with three drinks (but no bottle opener), I don't see why this room is called Privilege. Breakfast is just barely up to the brand's standards. Here again, a renovation would not be a luxury. The dishes should also be replaced. For example, the lid of the pot containing the sausages no longer has a handle (see photo). It is therefore difficult to remove. Big problem: the elevator is being replaced and is therefore out of service from June 29 until September 11. Communication on this subject is very discreet. On the hotel's website, it is mentioned under the "Good to know" section (accessible after several clicks): "In a constant effort to improve and provide comfort for our guests, we will be renovating our elevators starting June 29 and continuing until September 11." Actually, you have to read it as: No elevator (there is only one) on these dates. My reservation was made at the beginning of May, so the work might not have been scheduled yet, but I would have liked to receive an email informing me of the situation a few days before my arrival. Moral of the story: room on the 5th floor with no elevator. Finally, at check-out in the morning at 7 a.m., there was no one for 10 minutes because the arriving staff member was changing (the person who just finished their shift could have waited for their colleague to take over before leaving). This shows the lack of interest in customer service. In conclusion, an average, aging Mercure hotel that needs a major renovation. I am not sure I will return.

Staff were great, as was location, room was nice.
Only issues were that where there were dirty towels from the previous guest still in the bathroom on my first night. This was rectified the following day. However, bed sheets also had some small stains even after room service changed. I think this might have been discoloration rather than unclean but still didnt look great.
I still would stay again though.

Unacceptable

It is unacceptable not to be informed at the time of booking that the elevator is unavailable until 09/11. We had booked a Junior suite for two adults, two children, and a baby, and we had to climb 8 floors by the stairs after a long trip. The hotel's only effort was to send someone to carry our luggage up (which was only two bags, though!), but we still had to climb the floors with a baby in our arms and two children. In the room, nothing other than a simple complimentary bottle of water! At nearly €500, it's a real scandal!

Absolutely successful stay! We were delighted by the quality of the hotel, including the impeccable cleanliness of the rooms and common areas. Everything is perfectly maintained, which immediately puts confidence.
The location is a real asset, ideal to move easily and enjoy the family stay.
