An oasis of peace and relaxation...
The Hotel Bay is beautifully situated in a nature reserve and is truly a small oasis of peace. Anyone looking for rest and relaxation is in the right place here. It is a stylish boutique hotel that is pleasantly small and therefore not overcrowded. The location in Portonovo is simply dreamlike.
The entire staff is very friendly, attentive, and professional. We also liked the breakfast. By Italian standards, there is a good selection and everything you need for a successful start to the day.
We had booked a design room. However, this was already very small and, in our opinion, would have rather passed as a single room. The view of the backyard or the utility closet was also not particularly nice. Following the motto "You get what you pay for," that was perfectly fine for us, however.
The pool area is very nice. You can enjoy the sun there until the evening. The pool service was also good. There are enough lounge chairs for the guests. However, there are only a few cabanas, and they were unfortunately occupied by guests in the morning with towels, and then no one was there for hours. It is a great shame that the hotel does not pay attention to this. The drink prices at the pool bar are at a quite high level.
A special highlight is the hotel's private spa. Due to its size, it can only be booked individually. We did that and found it really very nice. The spa features a sauna, a steam room, and a small plunge pool – perfect for letting the day wind down in a relaxed way. We had also booked a massage, which was very professional.
Nevertheless, we would like to mention two small points of criticism: Upon our arrival, our booking could not be found at first, which was very unpleasant for us. Unfortunately, there was no apology for this on the part of the hotel.
Furthermore, our children came with us into the private spa. A receptionist suddenly stood in front of me in the sauna during our stay to inform me that children were not allowed in the spa. Of course we accept this policy, however we would have wished that we had been informed about it already at the time of booking or upon entering the spa. We felt the way the information was communicated at that moment was somewhat unfortunate.
Furthermore, a pair of swim trunks and a shirt were ruined by chlorine residue at the pool. Unfortunately, there was no apology or similar accommodation for this either.
Apart from that, we liked the hotel very much overall. Especially the location in the middle of the nature reserve is beautiful and makes the stay something very special. For dinner, we mostly went to the beach. There are several beach restaurants there, which are rather high-priced, but offer very good quality and a wonderful atmosphere in return. Directly across from the hotel there is a pizzeria; you can eat well there and the prices are not quite as overpriced as at the beach.
You can also rent lounge chairs directly on the beach through the hotel. The beach can be reached from the hotel in a few minutes via a small footpath. There are various bagni there. The water in the sea is crystal clear and clean. However, one should know that it is not a sandy beach there, but a pebble beach. About a 10-minute walk from the hotel, however, there is also a very beautiful sandy beach.
Our conclusion: Despite the small points of criticism, we can recommend the hotel without reservation. The dreamlike location, the peace and quiet, the beautiful pool area, and above all the warm and professional service made our stay something special.

Nice hotel in the countryside with a great view – deductions for service at the pool and dinner
The Seebay Hotel impresses with its idyllic, green location and a very pleasant atmosphere. Our room was absolutely quiet and clean – perfect for relaxing.
We really liked the breakfast: It offered a wide variety and clear labeling for different dietary needs. The pool area is also beautifully landscaped, wonderfully quiet, and offers a dreamlike view of the mountain.
However, we see room for improvement in the service: The staff at the pool bar was unfortunately not very well organized and often seemed overwhelmed by the guests. We also found it a great shame that the hotel restaurant did not have any vegan main courses on the menu for my wife in the evening.

Very comfortable!
Quiet hotel with spacious areas, helpful and courteous reception, excellent breakfast.
Our room was very clean but small in size and with a window facing the entrance gate, a little unfortunate. Large on-site parking.
