Lovely personal touches and a comfortable stay in a good location

I stayed the week the election results were announced, so the protests were beginning which meant I ended up staying in the room much more than planned on days when it wasn't safe to go out. There are only three rooms - the Green and Yellow rooms are larger, with a kitchenette, and the Blue has a full kitchen but the room is smaller. None have desks but they all have a kitchen table to work from.
The landlady lives on-site and is extremely attentive and wonderfully flexible. She made me gluten free banana pancakes to go with the excellent breakfast because of my dietary restrictions, and was concerned I'd get bored with the food options because I was there for just over a week! Her herbal teas were amazing. She also provides toiletries, daily replacement of tea, coffee, banana, water and juice, plus other things you may need (I hadn't brought salt and she supplied some). The kitchens are very well equipped compared to many aparthotels I've stayed in and I cooked several meals while I was there.
The pool is a nice size and good for pootling around in, not for serious laps, but it was lovely to be able to relax in it. Breakfast is served by the pool under a roof. There's a bar but I didn't see anyone use it.
Location wise, it's walkable (about 2km) to the central market and central bank area, also to plenty of nearer restaurants and businesses, although I used a driver on my busier days and for longer distances. There are plenty of grocery shops and a mobile phone shop, as well as the usual street vendors for fruit etc, within five minutes' walk.

Fantastic Stay In Maputo

We arrived to a very warm welcome a little later than planned, got settled in and Imelda gave us a great recommendation for diner. Our room had everything we needed including a great coffee machine, wonderful shower and perfect pillows. Breakfast was a treat, nuts, fruit, fresh juice and delicious eggs with fresh herbs however you like them. The pool was cold but clean and so refreshing after a hot day out. We stayed 6 nights and Imelda was so helpful with information and directions. Its handy to restaurants and local shops, we had a wonderful stay.
