The best experience in Málaga, everything was a ten out of ten

Everything was excellent: the hotel, the room, the staff, the breakfast, and of course the location.

No rooftop bar on a Sunday or Monday

Just arrived back after a 2 night stay. What i feel important to say is that the staff were all very nice and professional and this review is not a reflection of them at all.
However - this is in no way a 4 star hotel, I’d say 2 at best. It’s not in the best location, fine to walk into the city itself, but off the main roads and quite dirty around the streets.
The main issue was the roof top bar - this is not open at all on a Sunday or a Monday - to use pictures of it in advertising and not make it absolutely clear seems deceptive (they added a printed out sheet to an information board on the lift after we complained) , a bit like the pictures of the hotel, they are not at all what it looks like in person.
The breakfast area is tiny, the reception is a desk by the front door and there are a few steep steps to get in.
The room was ok - the view was of rooftop sheds and into people’s apartments, there was a strong smell when we got in and it seemed to come from the houses, a few recreational cigarettes I think.. our safe didn’t work, and the aircon was not great. We were also placed right next to the lift. I asked to move rooms but were told that they were full…
The rooms and hotel were clean and I think it must’ve had a recent refurb. There was no spy hole in the door.
We complained to our third party booking company, who tried for 2 days to get hold of the management to no avail. They also advised that they were not aware that the bar was not open 7 days a week. That company have refunded us half of the hotel fee.
We eventually did manage to go and see the rooftop as our flight was delayed (they can store your luggage) and it was lovely - which made it even more maddening that we were denied the opportunity to enjoy it.
There are so many hotels in Malaga - we had quite a few to choose from and I would honestly not recommend this one at all. We are hoping to find somewhere that we could use for regular visits and this was not it

Central and comfortable hotel

Top location hotel in Malaga within walking distance to beach, shopping, attractions, restaurants and communication. Our room was clean, functional with very comfortable bed. The only thing that was a bit teasing was that they missed washing up the cups, refilling both coffee capsules and water in the room. The first day we had to pick up at the reception, after that we wrote a note that we left in the room. Unfortunately, half was missed anyway. The hotel has a small roof terrace ideal for an evening drink. Breakfast was great. No huge buffet but a varied selection with everything we wanted. All the staff we were in contact with were friendly and helpful. Happy to stay here again.

2 days in Malaga

I chose this hotel for the really convenient location! The hotel despite being a 4 star is a bit basic. Comfortable bed and room spacious enough but smell in rooms not good! Bathroom without windows! Being accustomed to 4 Italian stars the level for me is low but very nice and helpful staff and very rich breakfast! If you don't have too many pretensions it's not bad!

Good value for a city break.

Great central location for exploring the town. Close to some good eating venues for lunch and evening. Room clean and comfortable - would be better with walk-in shower instead of bath. Breakfast offerings very good but fully diy, took us a day to work out the system. Tables very small. Rooftop bar a great plus, would be better if open all day even without the bar. Staff on reception friendly and helpful.
