This hotel has a great location on Church St., just across from the, close to all the stores & bars and easy walking distance from the train station. The breakfast is very good. About the only problem is the that the WiFi connection to the rooms is weak so if you have to do any serious work you might have to do it from the lobby sitting room.

Good location, very good breakfast. Convenient parking on property. Property is a bit worn out, but the rooms and bathrooms are good, clean and OK.

Extremely expensive and seems... like a place not to return to!

The hotel is a disgrace to the Mercure chain and all other AllAccor hotels. Worn out, windows do not close, unfriendly staff, beds like on a vibrating plate,... and extremely expensive!
The picturesque view of the old town has the charm of a run-down city...
The best part, the accessible bathroom, with a 15cm step!
If you are already charging 350 pounds a night, then it should also be appropriate. The room is worth max. 150 pounds.

We had an enjoyable stay. The hotel is very central so convenient for city centre amenities. It is however very close to a lot of the bars and pubs, so if you don’t want to be disturbed at night choose a river view room which are at the back of the hotel. We found the staff very friendly and helpful and the room was very clean.
