Not as advertised

At check in , we were informed that the hotel no longer had availability (even though booked in January and no contact before travelling ). They did offer to move us to sister hotel , which was a 35 min drive away . After some discussion , they did manage to find us a room in this hotel , however I wish they hadn’t .
We booked a Deluxe room and paid £185 for 1 night , the room they gave us was standard but still made us pay the deluxe room price .
The room (if you can call it that was ) tiny and cramped . Very dated and dirty . Blood all over curtains , wallpaper peeling off walls due to damp , damp smell . Dipped mattress , very odd window with no curtain , leading to not being able to have the room in darkness during the night .
Breakfast awful - small cramped room in the basement , cold food , dirty plates and cutlery . Staff not helpful . A very bad overall experience.
Location convenient, however would never stay here again .

Absolutely Filthy

This was, without question, the dirtiest hotel room I have ever stayed in.
Room 123 was absolutely disgusting. The windows were so filthy that they made the room feel dark. The décor was in a terrible state, with ripped wallpaper, paint marks everywhere, and an overall feeling of neglect. The shower was dirty and rusty, and the net curtains looked like they had never been washed. To make matters worse, there was grass or some other debris all over the floor when we arrived.
We had dropped our bags off earlier in the day before going to a concert, so we didn’t actually return to the room and properly check in until around 11pm. By that point, it was too late to raise the issues immediately, so we had little choice but to stay the night.
Unfortunately, breakfast was just as disappointing. Despite there being three of us, we couldn’t be seated because single guests and couples had been placed at tables for four, leaving no suitable table available. We waited a long time to be seated, and after asking two different members of staff for coffee, it still didn’t arrive.
Overall, this was an extremely poor experience. The cleanliness and maintenance of the room were completely unacceptable, and the breakfast service only added to our disappointment. I would not stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone.

NOT a 4-star hotel—at most 1 star—old, worn out, noisy.

Definitely not a 4-star hotel. Quite worn out. Had a room in the basement—this was like a dungeon! The bed for 2 people was only 1.20m wide. Bathroom so small that a large person can use neither the toilet nor the shower. TV broken. Extremely noisy. Since the room was in the basement and the cleaning staff also has their storage rooms there, there was noise early on.
The reviews on Opodo & Co. with "very good" are absolutely incomprehensible and do NOT correspond to reality.
Only the location to Paddington Station with a 3-minute walk is good.

Group of 4 girls sharing a room for a weekend away. Room wasn’t huge but we weren’t in it much. Beds comfortable. Short walk from Paddington station.
