A perfect place to stay for us!
This is a wonderful place to stay! We came off a Viking River cruise and wanted a couple more days in Lyon, a great city to visit. Mimi and Nicolas are wonderful hosts! Took care of every need and gave us great advice for visiting Lyon. Breakfast by Mimi is wonderful!

The very best stay in Lyon with the very best hosts
Mimi and Nicolas are the quintessential hosts offering their 19th century estate home in Saint-Just, Lyon's 5th arrondissement, high above the bustling streets of Vieux Lyon. Visitors find behind a simple wood door in the stone wall and up some stairs a very special, quiet, private refuge. The house is completely renovated with contemporary rooms fully restored with the very latest amenities. The breakfast rooms located in their residence are replete with many pieces of art from paintings, photographs, posters to sculpture and furniture. Mimi prepares a sumptuous breakfast of breads, jams, meats, and the best scrambled eggs ever! Lower Lyon is accessible by steps and walkways or by the nearby funicular. Extensive Roman ruins are a short walk up from Saint-Just. A short walk up the street from their home are several fine restaurants, particularly Le Bistrot Nicephore. Also, there are banks, pharmacies, hairdressers and more. For a small fee Mimi and Nicolas provide a covered, locked garage if you have a car. This is simply the very best place to stay in Lyon at the very best prices and with the very best hosts. Plan to stay awhile because you won't want to leave.

A very good location within the town
This property is in an excellent location for all the sights in Lyon. Additionally it is ideally placed for the station and funicular. Breakfast was really good and the hosts speak English. The area feels very safe, and the property itself is located behind a door set into a wall, which makes it feel very private. The hosts recommended local restaurants which was extremely useful. There is a lovely bakery with seating opposite the property, so if you need somewhere to wait before check in time this is ideal, they also have toilets. Also opposite the propery is a public car park where parking costs 35 euros for a full day, there is no parking at the property itself. For us the only drawback was the spiral staircase in the room which connected the bedroom with the bathroom on the floor below, you must be very careful. We found it quite difficult to lift our suitcase up the stairs to the room itself, but our host was kind enough to step in to help.

Fabulous few days
Little to add to all the compliments already set out by others. They are true!
It is easy to walk downhill to Vieux Lyon, although perhaps slightly harder back uphill. However the calmness and location etc of the B & B makes it very worthwhile considering as a place to stay. So much better than an hotel.
Would just add that if anyone has concerns about walking to or from the B & B (especially uphill after time sightseeing or eating down in Vieux Lyon) then consider buying a carnet of 10 tickets at any of the Metro stations allowing access to both the funiculaire (very frequent and only a few minutes ride close to Le Jardin de Beauvoir) as well as other Lyon buses and the metro. We did and found it both economic and very useful. We were lucky with the weather such that two out of our three breakfast were "au jardin". Wonderful and friendly hosts

Excellent in every way
My mother and I had been traveling in France for about two weeks when we arrived at Le Jardin de Beauvoir and this was one of my favorite places. The B&B is located in the Quartier Just which is about a 15 minute walk to the Vieux Lyon. We stayed two nights in the superior suite which was spacious with a kitchenette and an incredible view of the garden. Mimi and Nicolas are kind, welcoming, and incredibly helpful hosts. Mimi provided us with an excellent list of restaurants, graciously answered all our questions, and had many tour books on hand. In addition to the accommodations, the breakfast each morning was delicious with so many wonderful options. I have included a picture in order to convey the breakfast most accurately. I highly recommend staying here.
