We loved our stay at Thetrou Apartments! Ou host was very helpful and responsive. The location was perfect, walking distance to Acropolis, museums, restaurants, coffee shops and shopping. The apartment itself was modern and perfect for three people! Would stay here again

Property was in a bad area, my family and I did not want to walk around at night so we never got to see the city at night or have a regular timed dinner. Neighbors would tell us to be very careful as we are a group of girls, and that it was a very rough area.

We stayed here based on the attractive price as well as previous review of the apartments. We thought it would be a great place to stay with my partner being lactose intolerant, meaning we are able to cook our own meals. How wrong we were.
The streets were filled with litter and the walls covered in graffiti. We had seen in previous review that people had mentioned the area being a bit “up and coming” but do not be fooled. It’s awful.
When we arrived at the apartments the outside of the building was semi derelict, with the one across the road being even worse having smashed windows and being an absolute eyesore. The whole area felt UNSAFE.
To the apartments credit, the room was well thought out and nicely appointed, although we had little time to really get settled in as the loud music playing in the street, loud banging noises and the run down nature of the area caused us to immediately look for a new hotel.
We were unable to get our money back, despite being in the room for less than an hour, as the owner claimed that they had informed us of ‘on going building works’ that were taking place outside of the building. The issues we faced had nothing to do with the building works as on the day we arrived no one was working.
Athens proved to be an incredible city. My advice, don’t save money and stay here. If you can, spend a little bit more and get yourself in a nice hotel in a far safer area.

Our stay at the Athens Theatrou Apartments was deeply disappointing.
We stayed here based on the attractive price as well as previous review of the apartments. We thought it would be a great place to stay with my partner being lactose intolerant, meaning we are able to cook our own meals. How wrong we were.
From the moment we got off the metro from the airport we became concerned with the area the hotel was in. After a short walk from the metro station the area deteriorated further. The streets were filled with litter and the walls covered in graffiti. We had seen in previous review that people had mentioned the area being a bit “up and coming” but do not be fooled. It’s awful.
When we arrived at the apartments the outside of the building was semi derelict, with the one across the road being even worse having smashed windows and being an absolute eyesore. The whole area felt UNSAFE. I cannot preface enough that as an individual who has traveled around many cities, I have never felt this uneasy in any European city. A terrible first impression of Athens which is a city with some many beautiful areas. This is not one.
