The place to be in Ermoupolis

A wonderful place, perfectly located in Ermoupolis with direct access to the sea. We had the executive suite that was very comfy for a family. The old aristocratic building was beautifully renovated and the terrace where you have breakfast, drinks or just hang around is the main attraction. Service is exceptional and we loved the 8 to 1pm breakfast flexibility. We loved it!

Best Hotel in Syros

One of the bedt stays I have had in Greece. The Owner Lia goes out of her way to please guests. The location is fantastic, service impeccable and the Rice Pudding made me cry as it reminded me of my late Mother. A must visit im Syros. Will return!!

A true gem in heart of Syros

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel in Syros. Located in the charming Vaporia area of Ermoupoli, the hotel is in one of the most beautiful spots on the island. Everything is within easy walking distance, so restaurants, cafés, shops, and the beautiful streets of Ermoupoli are all nearby.
The hotel itself is an incredible old building that has beautifully preserved its original character and style. It has such a unique charm and atmosphere that makes the stay feel truly special. Our room was super cute, comfortable, and beautifully decorated.
The breakfast was excellent, and having it on the beautiful balcony overlooking the sea made it even more special. The view was absolutely breathtaking and was a wonderful way to start the day. In the evening, the same balcony became a lovely place for dinner and drinks at the bar, with the stunning sea view creating a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere.
A lovely surprise was the small area with sunbeds by the sea, where you could relax in the sun and even jump directly into the water for a swim. It was such a nice extra to have this little spot available during our stay.
The entire staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and always smiling. Their genuine warmth and hospitality made our stay even more enjoyable.
A truly charming hotel in an unbeatable location, with a beautiful old-world atmosphere, excellent breakfast, breathtaking sea views, and wonderful hospitality. We absolutely loved our stay and would happily come back to Syros!

Unforgettable hospitality and Mediterranean magic at Hotel Ploes!!I stayed at Hotel Ploes for five nights in mid-June, just before the peak tourist season rush. From start to finish, the experience was unforgettable—the warmth of the people, the exquisite architecture, the views, and the exceptional food. Warm Hospitality: The hospitality began the moment I arrived; the owner and team personally greeted me at the entrance stairs and took care of my luggage straight to the elevator. Incredible Views & Location: Arriving early, I was invited to relax with coffee at the front porch restaurant while my room was being prepared. That was my first introduction to the stunning turquoise water and sweeping coast views—it screams "Mediterranean" and captivates all your senses immediately. Shout Out to Staff: The staff work seamlessly together to create a cozy, welcoming, family atmosphere. A special thank you to Stathis, who assisted me daily with everything from local travel guidance to drink recommendations and technical help with my TV. Ignatios also brightened every day with his warm, cheerful greetings whenever we crossed paths. Unmatched Breakfast: The absolute highlight of each morning was the made-to-order breakfast, served from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Chef Vivi prepares every single dish fresh, from vibrant fruit salads and poached eggs with avocado to local delicacies like dakos and fresh pastries. It is truly phenomenal. Beautiful Design: I booked the "Honeymoon Room," which features high hand-painted ceilings, classic furnishings, and tasteful decor matching the rest of the historic building. Minor Detail: The only tiny detail was that the mattress was slightly too bouncy for my personal preference, but otherwise, the stay was perfection. Syros is an island worth spending at least a full week exploring. Finding Hotel Ploes made my time in Syros deeply memorable, elegant, and sensory. I would have extended my stay right then and there if they hadn't been fully booked!

We were welcomed to the beautiful, restored townhouse that is Hotel Ploes, by its owner, Lina and her little dog. Nothing was too much trouble, from the provision of information about Syros to phoning taxis for us. Her restaurant recommendations were excellent, as was her very worthwhile recommendation to visit the town's art gallery which was exhibiting some of the work of the famous Greek sculptor, Theodoros Papagiannis. Her authored novel, Konstantza, Tales of Vaporia - provided in our room at the beginning of our stay and gifted to us at the end - managed to blend a fictional story with the history of the island and, in particular, the area of Vaporia, along with the careful renovation of the building that has become Hotel Ploes. It added to the enjoyment of our stay (26-29 June 2026). Our room - sea facing with a large terrace and situated at the top of the hotel - was scrupulously clean, as was the hotel in general. The beautiful decor throughout reflected the building's sympathetic restoration. All staff were courteous and helpful and the breakfasts were generous and of good quality.
