Perfect modern apartment in Beaune with a perfect proprietor
It is on a quiet street just off a main thoroughfare (Beaune-sized, meaning small and cobbled) and not more than ten minutes walk to nearly all restaurants, sights, caves, and stores. The building is ancient but beautifully renovated into several apartments with all modern conveniences, including a automatic elevator.
Joce, the proprietor, lives off site but is wonderfully attentive and helpful. She and her husband even got up early to drive us in two cars to catch our Flixbus to the airport. Joce provided a welcoming bottle of Bourgogne Cremant and two thick binders of information about activities, restaurants, shopping, and more. She was always just a call or message away for advice.
Our apartment had two bedrooms, each with its own shower and sink, all very modern and functional. The shared toilet was in hallway. The kitchen was large, with an induction range, oven, dishwasher, large fridge, and eat-in area that divided it from the living room. There was TV and wifi. The living room seats four in leather chairs and loveseat. The ceiling is high with the original ancient beams. All rooms are air-conditioned with individual mini-splits, so each can be adjusted to a desired temperature.
The LR and front BR windows opened on to the quiet side street. The had interior shutters for shade and privacy, although we had neither sun issues nor neighbor windows that could see in.
We enjoyed eating our dinners out at some of the many restaurants, but we also enjoyed having leisurely breakfasts and lunches in the apartment after shopping for fresh items, baked goods, and wine at nearby shops.
On the ground floor is a large and tidy storage area for, say, rental bikes or perhaps luggage.
All appliances, plumbing, and electronics worked well. There was cookware, dishes, and glasses for all needs. Joce clearly has high standards for cleanliness, quality, and detail.
