Very good despite some details to improve
I also liked the room very much: large, well equipped with a very large bed and a marble bathroom.
Be careful, however, the hotel seems aging in places: a split tile in the restaurant room, stained armchairs at the reception, red carpet at the entrance very worn and torn in places,... Adding to this a well-being closed space (ok for the one outside, but why the one inside does not work) and a decent breakfast but a little below expectations for a 5*, that's why I give a score of 4/5.

Just a nice luxury
Maybe that's just the period because we've had a wonderful luxury.
Double room en suite (free upgrade).
The suite was very spacious with jacuzzi.
Nice beds!
Free use of the heated swimming pool.
At the front a bit noisy, traffic was well heard in the morning.
Breakfast was fine.

We chose this hotel partly because Hotels.com stated that laundry facilities were available. After travelling for over a week, this was important to us. We were told our clothes would be washed gently at 30°C, but were not informed they would be tumble dried. When the laundry was returned, several of my new T-shirts had shrunk. Reception later confirmed they had been tumble dried. Clothing worth around 30,000 LEK was ruined, making this by far the biggest disappointment of our stay. When I raised the issue with the reception the receptionist wanted to call the staff member who had washed the clothes. We did not want to create problems for an individual employee, as we considered this to be the hotel's responsibility rather than the employee's.
We also found the information about lunch confusing. Although the hotel's website states lunch is served from 1–4 PM, the restaurant staff seemed unaware of this service when we asked. The situation gave us the impression that lunch service was not a regular part of the hotel's operation.
Breakfast was decent but offered a smaller selection than the 3-star hotel we stayed at in Himarë. We were also surprised that hotel guests had to pay extra to use the swimming pool.

Not bad
Large and clean room
Negative points:
- Paid pool for €5 (it's nothing, but let's not pretend it's a 5*)
- Breakfast, no choices (very disappointed)

It’s all a bit weird
When you get inside, you can immediately tell that it’s younger and you think it is, but it’s a weird mix of what looks like Soviet décor and a budget hotel. You have this massive grand entrance hall yet a fairly non-descript reception desk tucked in a corner. The room corridors are absolutely massive in width laid out with large rugs which don’t quite fit so have been in-filled and are thread bare in places.
The room itself has an abundance vertical height, but the floor space was relatively tight. All the furniture was a good appearance, although did look like IKEA flat pack, and the room was immaculately clean. The bathroom equally didn’t quite look like the age of the hotel, but again was clean with a powerful and hot shower.
Somewhat disappointingly the use of the outdoor pool was an additional €5 charge. The pool area is absolutely gorgeous and the highlight of the hotel, although to reach that area you have to walk down a faded and thread bare red carpet. In the Bar area, the staff were absolutely lovely and there are ample sun loungers.
Breakfast was okay, again a bit weird.
We heard a mixture of stories as to how the hotel came into existence, bearing between it having been built as a university, built as a Children’s Hospital or originally built as a hotel. All of them are believable and none of them quite work.
All in all one of the weirdest hotels I’ve ever stayed in yet is absolutely not trying to be weird.
