Best place in saranda

Great experience as always, rooms nice and clean, lovely breakfast and lovely views, best stake in the area and prices were great to, would highly recommend

Good room and location, but disappointing value for money in high season

We stayed at Hotel Apollon in July/August in Deluxe Sea View room 428 and paid around €250 per night. The room itself was comfortable, clean and had a beautiful sea view. Free parking was also appreciated (the ramp to get to the parking is quite steep).
Unfortunately, the overall experience did not match what we expected from a four-star hotel in this price category.
The biggest disappointment was the breakfast. The selection was quite limited, and some basic items regularly ran out and were not replenished quickly enough, or had to be asked for. The quality and variety felt more like a mid-range hotel experience rather than what we expected at this price level.
We were also surprised that sunbeds had to be paid for separately (20% discount for hotel guests). We only discovered this after reading reviews, when cancellation was no longer a realistic option due to the payment conditions. For a hotel with this room rate, we expected a more complete beach experience.
Another downside was an unpleasant smell in the corridors and occasionally around the room. In addition, there was loud music every evening until around midnight. Guests who value quiet evenings or like to sleep early should be aware of this.
During the same trip we stayed at several other hotels, including Boutique Suite Hotel in Tirana, Colombo Hotel in Berat and Avala Resort in Budva (Montenegro).
These comparisons made the difference in value for money very clear. Avala was in a similar price category but offered a much more complete seaside experience, including beach bed access + towels and a higher overall level of facilities and service.
Hotel Apollon has a great location, a nice view and the room itself was good. However, the overall experience felt less complete than expected for a hotel in this category. For a price of around €250 per night, we expected a more consistent four-star experience.

3-star hotel

Hotel with a beautiful private beach even if the sunbeds have very high costs... €70 per day for a beachfront one, crazy. Mediocre breakfast; on the last day, the cappuccino machine broke, so I had to order it at the bar and pay extra for it. Poor restaurant, I would not have dinner there again.
10 days of half-board and money thrown to the wind, so much so that several evenings we preferred to go elsewhere even though we had already paid for dinner.
Reception with girls who are not up to the task, often found playing on the computer instead of helping guests. Clean rooms, but the air conditioner above the head of the bed really does not work well.
Overall, a 3-star hotel at most. It is a pity because a little more attention would be enough to improve.

Great! The rooms do not really look like them on hotels.com. But we payed for a little upgrade and was after that very pleased.

Cannot fault this hotel....staff, location, decor, breakfast. All great! Can walk to it from the ferry terminal and easy to get into the busy part of Darande if only when you want. Highly recommend particularly if it's your first time in Albania A+++++
