An unforgetable stay....Favourite destination in Albania!!!!
I stayed at Antag hotel for 1 week from August 15 - 21st, 2015 with my fiancee! We had heard from friends of the Albanian beaches and the country's hospitality, so we decided to make a stop before heading to our final destination to Croatia! After some research, we narrowed down our choice of stay in Shengjin! My fiancee and I prefer vacationing in quite and authentic places where we can get a taste of the country's culture! Shengjin was the perfect location since it offered an amazing beach and was close enough to visit some old towns like Shkoder and Kalaja Lezhe!
The second step was to choose a hotel, and after reading reviews on Tripadvisor we decided on Antag Hotel! Before our arrival we phoned the hotel amd asked if they could arrange for our pick up at the airport! It was a nice surprise to see that the staff at the reception desk spoke great English and were very helpful and patient with all of our questions.
The Room:
The room was quite spacious and what stood out the most was its cleanliness! Each room had a balcony facing either the pool, the mountains or the beach! We opted for the beach view and it surely did not disappoint! Each day the maids would do a thorough cleaning of the room and we had our bedsheets changed once every 2 days! The room was also equiped with a nice size fridge which would be a nice option for families travelling with children! The airconditioning worked great, which is crucial as temperatures outside reached the high 30s!
The Pool:
The hotel had a great pool filled sea water! There were a lot of beach lounge chairs which guests of the hotel had guaranteed, so no need to wake up early and save a lounge chair! There were waiters around constantly so we didn't need to get up and order drinks or food!
The beach:
The beach is 150m walk from the hotel! The hotel had lounge chairs at the beach as well reserved for its guests along with a caffee! Thus we had the option of staying at the beach or the pool, which is great since the beach would tend to get crowded and loud!!
Food:
We both loved the food! It was fresh and the Albanian cuisine was very tasty! Breakfast was served buffet style, and our favourite food was this traditional Albanian food known as petulla! A definite must try! The kitchen offered all variety of foods for lunch and dinner thus one has a wide variety to choose from! My fiancee and I opted for the traditional food! There are two restaurants each with a different theme and decor which we both appriciated!!
Staff:
The overall staff was great! Languages spoken by staff at the hotel are English, Greek, Italian and German! Majority of the tourists during our stay were German and we made some great friends! Our maid Liza was very kind: Klara at the reception desk was a joy to speak with and the owner who was always present made sure we had a pleasant stay!
The only con I would say is that there were a few families with small children, however most of the kids played at the playground available at the hotel!
I would definitely return to Antag hotel and recommend it to all my friends and family!!!

Good value for money
Stayed here for a weekend. It is situated a short walk from the Kune beach - Shengjin and close to many nice restaurants. It has a swimming pool; wherein a good portion is adapted for kids. I did not use it th.ough as I prefer sea water, although they claimed that the pool too was filled with sea wat.er.
I do not know about other rooms although my guess is that they are pretty similar, but our room was of an average size, with a nice bathroom¡ but quite modest in terms of supplies. It had an A/C too internally operated.
Pros- very abundant breakfast. Enabled us a late check out against a small amount of money.
Cons- mosquiots, also in the room, but then again this is a HUGE problem all over Shengjin. As soon as the sun sets the town is covered in clouds of mosquitos...you simply cannot enjoy a nice evening walk or have a meal at a nice restaurant outside. They
do not seem to have undertaken any measures to disinfect the town.

Renovated, Beautiful Pool, and Close to the Beach!
We recently spent a week at the Antag Hotel and enjoyed our stay. The lobby has been recently renovated and an elevator was added which was very helpful! Our room, 201, had a comfortable king bed plus a twin bed, a refrigerator, and a large closet with shelves for storing your clothes. There are no drawers for storage in the room. Unfortunately, the view from the balcony was of the dumpster and the parking lot. However, the air conditioning was great, and we kept the drapes closed to keep the room cool; so we didn't miss the view. The bathroom was beautiful and had a large shower. Just bring your own soap since they only gave us one little bar and two small packages of shampoo all week. Also, be aware that you are given one towel per person per day, so bring an extra towel for the beach and pool! The area around the large pool is wonderful! I didn't feel that the music was a problem at all as was mentioned in a previous post. In addition, there is a very nice playground and a small volleyball court behind the pool. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The free breakfast had ample hot and cold choices, and parking is also free. WiFi is free; but, unfortunately, it was not available in our room. The only place that we could get connected was in the public areas. The beach is a very short walk from the hotel with restaurants, gelato, and a small market nearby. The Antag also has a beachfront restaurant where you can get coffee and drinks, ice cream, or pizza in a gorgeous setting while you watch the sun set over the Adriatic. Beach loungers and an umbrella are also available for 4 euros.

Sweet Little Family Owned Hotel
This family owned, family friendly resort hotel at the tail end of resort town Shengjin Albania, is a great option if vacationing in the area. A beautiful pool is the focal point with most rooms overlooking it from the balconies. A lovely covered, open dining/lounging space connects the lobby and dining room on one side with the pool on the other. The rooms are not elegant - tile floors instead of carpet, minimal decor, but they are very clean and comfortable. Each room has its own air conditioning unit and small frig. There is free wifi. Wifi was sometimes intermittent though, and the air was sometimes turned off in the afternoons. This seems to be par for the area and when we asked, we were able to keep the air on. But it's good to know. Rooms have fold-away drying racks if you have do a bit of hand laundry or need to dry pool towels. Food was good with lots of fresh local vegetables. They have really good fish, and if you're traveling with kids, lots of pizza options. Speaking kids, there's a playground beyond the pool for small children and a volleyball court for older kids or adults. Antag is not directly on the beach, but they have a pavilion on the beach which is only 3 very short blocks away. It houses a small cafe with tables and then beach umbrellas and beach lounge chairs. The beach is a bit narrow and the water quality wasn't great when we were there, so we opted to spend more time near the pool. But it's great to have these options. I liked the location away from the busiest, loudest part of Shengjin. A lovely spot. Very relaxing, great service, good food.

Loud music all day
The swimming pool is nice and the WiFi is good, but the rooms are not that nice. There is so much noise/music from the common areal and they refused to let us change to another room. The bed is one of the worst I have tried in Albania.
