Fine hotel, straight at the skislopes and chairlift. Besides that. Not much to say. I was there simply for hiking from Andorra la Vella to Pas de la Casa.

The establishment refused us a room because our two magnificent Eurasian dogs were too "big" for the manager. We were

Excellent stay at this Hotel
We’ve just returned from a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were incredibly welcoming and friendly. Although our room was small, it was cosy, warm, and had the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The showers were always hot, and the half-board menu offered plenty of variety – the salad starters in particular were generous and delicious. Breakfast had an excellent selection. It’s a beautiful, spotless, and well-managed hotel, and we wouldn’t hesitate to return.

Excellent Small Hotel for a Week on the Slopes - Wonderful Staff
We stayed here for a week over New Year and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We are 2 couples in our 30s. The rooms are cosy, with individually controlled thermostats to suit your needs. Our room was a reasonable size but others are a little smaller. The rooms were clean and comfortable and have a chalet style vibe with the decor.
We had a street facing room which you can hear slight road noise from and some hustle and bustle from the bar across the street. I wore foam ear plugs on New Year’s Eve as I predicted it may be noisier than usual and they were enough to drown out the extra noise.
The hotel staff were wonderful and made our stay very enjoyable. We looked forward to seeing them as they always greeted us with a smile and a kind welcome. They were so friendly, attentive and accommodating. We stayed on a half board basis. Breakfast was an enjoyable continental with warm croissants, a selection of bread to toast, condiments, cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, meats and cheese and a warm Spanish omelette and beans. There were a selection of teas and a coffee machine. We all enjoyed breakfast and it set us up nicely for our days on the slopes. Again, the staff were lovely and always vigilant to what was running low/needed replaced.
Dinner was a set menu of a starter, main course and dessert.
There were about 5 starters, including soups, salads and pate.
There were at least 10 choices for main course, and a ‘dish of the day’ as an alternative from the choices on the set menu. All were served with a side of your choice: rice, French fries, jacket potato with garlic aioli, green beans or salad.
There were several choices for dessert, including cheese, apple tart, creme caramel, ice cream and profiteroles.
We actually felt spoilt for choice by the menu and none of us had the same dinner twice. There was also a special menu for New Year’s Eve which was a 6 course feast and was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed all the food in the hotel and the service was fantastic.
The restaurant also operates as a walk-in restaurant for non-guests and was very popular but hotel guests always have a table reserved and at the time of arrival are given a choice of dinner sitting (6:45 or 9:00)
It is worth noting that this hotel is small and so does not have a social area to gather/chill and play games/cards etc after dinner (the restaurant was usually full) however, we were not rushed away from our table.
Neither of our rooms had a bath (I think some of the family/4 person rooms do) which was really my only negative and that’s more a personal choice to soak my muscles after a day on the slopes - however, I appreciate that the majority of people prefer showers so it isn’t a criticism - just personal preference.
The location of the hotel is perfect for the slopes and is right in the centre of Soldeu for access to shops/bars/buses/restaurants. Our hotel stay also included the hire of lockers at the Sports Calbo which was right next to the gondola and was only a 2 minute walk from the hotel. It meant getting to the slopes was hassle free.
We really couldn’t fault this place and it was so reasonably priced for all we had included.
We are very grateful to all the staff for making our stay so enjoyable.

Too many negatives to return!
Stayed for one week ski holiday on a package with Crystal Ski.
We are very familiar with Soldeu, but our first time choosing to stay at The Bruxelles.
The room was on the top floor in the eves so only had three skylights and sloping ceilings, missed not having a proper window tbh! The room had FOUR single beds made up despite us being a couple, so we had plenty space to spread our stuff out! But wouldn’t like to be four people in there! No bath, only a shower so missed being able to soak cold tired bones at the end of the day! But hot water was plentiful and shower good and powerful. Bathroom seems to have been upgraded and was clean and fresh. Overall the room was pretty decent. Lift stops at second floor so we had to haul our luggage up to the third floor.
Breakfast was the biggest disappointment, absolute minimal continental, felt like the hotel made no effort at all to provide this for guests, as a result we ended up having full lunches out which we never normally do! Evening meal is a set menu and you are offered one of two dining slots, 6.45pm or 9pm. This is very restrictive and takes quite some planning as we were with friends in other hotels. The three course set menu is ok but again very restrictive and a choice of meat will be served with fries or one half of a jacket potato and green beans - EVERY night! I shall not be eating green beans for quite a while! They do a special a couple times during the week, a chicken and mushroom dish one evening and a pizza the other. They have a number of other non resident diners that seem to take priority over staying guests.
Bonus that we hadn’t noticed on our paperwork, was being provided with a locker at Sports Calbo at the gondola station. However, just note that they will allocate another guest staying at the hotel to share this with. We shared a locker with a lovely solo guest but this may trouble some.
WiFi in room was awful, dropped out constantly and no ability to do any kind of data voice call or video calls to family. A safety deposit box cost €20 for the week, non refundable, not quite normal practice these days.
The staff were all friendly and quite lovely!
Now having stayed at pretty much every hotel in Soldeu, I won’t be coming back to The Bruxelles due to the negatives outweighing the positives unfortunately.
