Newcastle is a great place to visit and Cosmo Motel is a great place to stay there

This well-located and quiet motel offers an unusually good level of space and room facilities (crockery, cutlery, coffee machine). The large and very clean room had comfortable beds, several comfortable chairs and a small table. Parking at the door of the room

Amazing motel offering everything needed

Absolute little gem! Close to basketball stadium and Knights home ground. Comfortable beds, clean room & spacious, great shower with good body wash and smelt beautiful, quiet location (not one bit of traffic or street noise was heard), coffee and milk machine was a bonus and other room amenities offered are all covered. Highly recommend and we’ll definitely stay agin!!

A great motel and excellent restaueant

Excellent motel and great restaurant.
The room was very spacious and details to comfort first class. Exceptionally clean and the outdoor balcony shaded by the beautiful palms was very pleasant . Decor was a delight. Coffee pod machine, drink trolley with a cocktail shaker and microwave were a lovely addition.
Bed and pillows so comfortable.
The room, although on a main road was quiet. The photos will show how wonderful it is.
It’s only a very short drive to Kotara and John Hunter Hospital.
The restaurant attached is an absolute delight. Steve and Matt couldn’t have been nicer and the atmosphere and food excellent. The bingo musical game was an added bonus and so much fun. My only regret is that we aren’t locals as we would definitely dine here again.

Will recommend!

I recently stayed at this motel, and I was pleasantly surprised by how excellent it was. The value exceeded my expectations, and I couldn't find anything to fault. The room was spacious and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. My husband stayed for three nights while I was there for two, recovering from a hospital procedure. The motel operates on a non-contact basis, but the instructions for check-in were clear and easy to follow. While there’s no meal service, we enjoyed ordering from local restaurants and Uber Eats. We had no parking issues, even with our 4WD. I slept beautifully, even after my surgery, and appreciated the comfort, especially since I was longing for my own bed. We will definitely stay again if needed and look forward to trying the restaurant when it reopens! Highly recommended!

Warning to anyone considering the Cosmo motel!!!

There should be a caveat when calling this motel- the owner Stephen has some issues- and doesnt want to deal with people- he will cut you off and not allow you to speak(might tell you to shutup if you have a query), he will cancel your booking at a whim , charges more than advertised and agreed upon- after you have handed overyour CC details and agreed to the price (pretty sure that is illegal btw). Here's a tip for Stephen-maybe don't go into hospitality, if you don't have a slither of hospitableness in your body. Or manners for that matter. If you dont want to be nice to people and run your business in a professional manner, then dont do it. Because you obviously hate what youre doing. We all have bad days, you seem to be just bad and mad! - definitely not good in your current role at all.
There are plenty of great motels out there around Newcastle, that actually have great people skills, like the Merewether Motel, or the Surf Beach motel near Charlestown, or the Blackbutt Inn - take your pick. They all have professional staff who take time to help you.
But steer clear of this place- for your own peace of mind and happiness.

It seems that you are able to act however you like and expect to get away with it. We have a zero tolerance for guests that don't treat us, our staff or our property with the same respect we aim to provide. We aim to resolve any issues, but I have no problem in refussing accommodation to anyone who does not behave approriately, either in person, on the phone or in written communications. My "attitude" was purely in response to your behaviour and threats on the phone. We have no time for guests that make life unneccesairy difficult and unpleasant.
For clarity, I will repeat the last email I sent your husband.
Hi,
A mistake was made whilst quoting, and my staff member was attempting to advise your wife of this.
When I took over the call, your wife was more interested in talking over the top of me than letting me resolve the issue.
I declined your booking because of your wife's attitude and her unwillingness to listen whilst I tried to sort out the issue.
We are permitted to refuse bookings to any person on any grounds as long as it is not discriminatory.
In relation to advertised prices, your booking had special request for ground floor rooms, and this was not available at the cheaper price.
