1st time in a rainforest
Fantastic location in the Lamington National Park. Room was fairly basic but clean and comfortable - good nights sleep and the bathroom was more than adequate. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Good food options from full a la carte menu to buffet in main restaurant, cafe for breakfast, bar snacks in the bar - all reasonably priced and the buffet is as much as you wanted to eat.
Atmosphere was generally quiet probably because there is lots to do and guests were relaxing are taking part in activities or taking advantage of the many walking tracks into the park.
Easy to book activities and the O'Reilly's app is very easy to navigate.
Overall a great experience and a very enjoyable few days

Rainforest Activities Delivers, Management Doesn’t
The activities at O’Reillys are fantastic! The bird show was the best we have seen, so up close with the birds! The glow worm tour was incredibly impressive, and the zip line so FUN! Shout out to Helena! Legend!
If only I could say the same for our accommodation experience. We were most unfortunate. A broken fridge in one villa, TV and Aircon on the blink in another.
What disappointed me most was the response from management when I raised concerns about spoiled food, including a barbecue chicken that had sat in the car for several hours before being placed overnight in a fridge that no one knew had stopped working. I was told, "It's cooked, it should be okay. There's really not much we can do about it." I found that response lacking in empathy and concern. I was shocked.
I came to understand the villas are privately owned, which may make compensation more complicated, but that's not something guests should have to navigate. We did appreciate being credited with one dinner, and we're grateful for that gesture.
Problems also with prepaid activities bookings not showing up in their system. Helena tho handled it like champion that she is.
There are some genuinely wonderful staff here, and the activities are a real highlight of the property. I hope management reviews its processes for handling accommodation issues and places a greater emphasis on empathy and customer service, because with those improvements, this could be an exceptional destination.

Villa experience
Had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary. The spa in the balcony was a highlight and the view incredible. Anna gave and amazing massage and the staff are all wonderful.

Pat’s Farm at O’Reillys
One of the best get-away-from-it-all places you could wish for. Top quality chalet style cabins, fully self-sufficient, very modern, very snug, almost perfect.
Complete kitchen, lovely couple’s bathroom, hot tub, a wonderful wood fire. The “farmers box” option was excellent and very good value. We had lots of food left over.
The working cattle farm environs was exquisite. Lush, classic SE Qld hinterland.
And it’s just a five minute drive from the O’Reillys trail heads for a dozen superb day hikes in the breathtaking Lamington National Park.
But.
Maybe it’s because Pat’s Farm is still a bit new, but the communications are lousy. O’Reillys doesn’t explain how to get there, and “Pat’s Farm” isn’t recognized by Google Maps.
So here’s my PSA: The access road to Pat’s Farm is about 1.5 km before the O’Reillys Retreat (and about 500 m from the Python Rock trail head car park). The turn off is marked by a funky steel sign. It’s easy to find once you’re there.
Be warned. The access track off Lamington National Park Rd is 800m long, dirt, narrow, badly pot-holed, and hard going at night. And once you’re through the farm gate, it gets worse. We managed in a normal car but some drivers would want a 4x4 vehicle. I strongly advise against driving in at night.
Otherwise, we LOVED it.

We have had a month of rain (unusual for this time of the year) so our Maintenance team are struggling to keep up with track maintenance. It looks like some clear times ahead so we will beonto it.

A beautiful location for bushwalking and relaxation
A beautiful location for bushwalking and relaxation
O'Reilly's is a beautiful place for walking, seeing wildlife (mainly birds), waterfalls and lookouts. The staff there are friendly and very helpful. We loved our room outlook across the valley, with gorgeous sunsets, pademelons grazing nearby and it was spacious enough with a balcony.
The guide for the nightime glow worm experience was informative and showed us other wildlife including a snoozing carpet python curled up in the grass.
The food choices at O'Reilly's are restrictive and expensive. If you don't eat a lot then the restaurant evening buffet or breakfast will make your wallet wince. Pack some muisli bars, fruit, and if you don't feel like mingling then some pot noodles for a night in. {There are no microwaves or toasters in the rooms} The a la carte menu was only offered in the bar and those meals were delicious, including the pizzas. The bar space is busy and quite squishy in the evenings. The daytime cafe seemed understaffed and the fresh sandwiches, wraps and range of toasties stated on the website were unavailable. The cafe menu food seemed expensive and took a long time to reach the table. Lighter options such as fresh sandwiches should be offered. The coffee was good.
Overall it is a lovely place to visit, go bushwalking in the Lamington National Park, absorb the history and relax. We loved it.
