In a great area, roomy. Pool looked more like a puddle compared to the photos. Floor needed a good scrub.

Lovely staff, disappointing place.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. . Rattling old worn out screens form a ‘barrier’ between bed and rest of ‘apartment’ but they don’t pull across or back without a fight. Grimey floor and thin towels. Flat top shower head in a huge-sided bath you have to climb into. Very few car park spaces for a LOT of cars. Could NOT possibly be 9..2/10 rating, against the most beautiful SHERATON, Sea Temple OR Mantra Aqueous, yet that is what it scored on its own website which listed their reviews as ‘TripnAdvisor’ despite there being no way for us to write a review there and a much lower score on the Trip Advisor Reviews website . Strange.

We are sorry that some aspects of the apartment did not meet your expectations. Le Cher Du Monde is a boutique, adults-only serviced apartment property that has been welcoming guests for many years. While we continually maintain and improve the property, including recent refurbishment and painting works, we understand that some guests may prefer the style of a newer resort.
We appreciate your comments regarding the room features, towels, and bathroom layout. The shower-over-spa design is a feature found in many of our apartments and is enjoyed by many guests, although we understand it may not suit everyone's preferences.
Regarding parking, we do advise guests that on-site parking is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. However, there is also public parking available nearby when our spaces are full.
We would also like to clarify that Le Cher Du Monde is a boutique serviced apartment property and is quite different from large resort-style properties such as Sheraton, Sea Temple, or Mantra Aqueous, which offer different facilities, services, and operate at different price points. Many of our guests choose us for our spacious apartments, central Macrossan Street location, adults-only atmosphere, and value for money.
Regarding review scores, the ratings displayed on our website are automatically aggregated from multiple guest review platforms and booking channels. We certainly do not alter or control these scores, and they are based entirely on feedback provided by guests who have stayed with us.

It’s a sincere NO from us. Sorry, don’t go there.
The stairs were tough but the room was worse. Old shambly timbershutters that need painting and oiling and fixing, surround the bed, supposedly for ‘room division’, but they got stuck every day. The floors felt grimy under foot and the towels cheap. NO room cleaning or change of linen unless you stay a week!

Please note that on their own site they Name Trip Advisor for their quoted reviews giving them a whopping 9.2 out of 10 stars, MORE stars than both the beautiful and clean Sea Temple and the Mantra Aqueous. VERY limited car park spaces (about 15 for 30! plus rooms). The staff were pleasant and doing their best and getting in was easy. We just wish we hadn’t!

While the building has been welcoming guests for many years, we work hard to maintain and continually improve the property, including recent refurbishment and painting works.
As you requested a pool view apartment, this placed you on the second floor overlooking the pool area. We do make every effort to advise guests that our property is stairs-only and does not have lift access, so guests can decide whether it is suitable for their needs.
We also understand that preferences vary when it comes to room features. The spa bath with overhead shower is a feature that many guests enjoy, while others may prefer a different bathroom layout.
As a serviced apartment property, housekeeping is provided weekly, and this is noted on Expedia and in our guest information. For shorter stays, additional servicing can always be arranged for a fee.

EXCELLENT DEAL IN DARWIN
Best position in the town, re eating, drinking and shops. Only short distance to the beach.
Comfortable and large enough suites, with nice decor and little kitchen.
It’s adults only so the pool is a really pleasant area.
Air conditioning works well.
Owners are incredibly obliging.
Have been twice and will go again.
Very reasonably priced.

Great Place
My wife and I have visited Port Douglas dozens of times and on this trip we were looking for an adults only resort in or very close to Macrosson Street. We decided on Le Cher Du Monde and are extremely happy with our choice. You can not get a better location, we could park our hire car in the basement car park and the hosts Frank and Connie were fantastic. The rooms were spacious and very clean and tidy. Our room had access directly to the pool area which was a bonus and whilst the pool is not huge, most of the times we were the only ones using it. We would highly recommend Le Chur Du Monde and will definitely be going back.
