My partner stayed here while I was in the hospital next door. Easy parking, serviceable amenities.

Online rating does not match my experience

Very ordinary room and facilities. I expected far more from a Mercure site.
Parking is outside, around 100 metres walk and in pouring rain is not good AND they havebthe hide to make you pay for it at $16 per day.
Only one small lift.
Room had a couple of lights not working, one cupboard door falling off the hinges, had trouble closing it. Fridge is a square extremely small bar fridge, near useless, and the freezer is very small, particularly when full of ice. Clearly has never been cleaned out. What's the point of having a freezer if you can't have use it. Spent over an hour using the hair drier to melt the ice.
TV is ridiculous, it's in Hotel Mode so can't use Streaming services. Tried connecting to the Google ChromeCast that's part of the TV, after half an hour I gave up, would not connect no matter what I did.
Bathroom looks very tired as does much of the room. Reminded me of rooms you find in cheaper country motels, certainly not the standard I would expect from a metropolitan Mercure Hotel.
AC controller is hard to use, often doesn't react to pushes, but then suddenly it runs through all the pushes you had just made. Also hard to understand what buttons do what and the display didn't help, never seen one like it, and I've been in over 1000 motels/hotels through work.

Only problem was air conditioner wasn't working well. Appeared to be warmer outside. Overall top quality.

Good value for money

This hotel has a 24/7 reception desk and is literally a two minute walk to Macquarie University Hospital. The rooms are clean and there's a reasonable amount of room.
A hot buffet breakfast is available and a limited menu is available all day and evening. The bar also has a daily happy hour. Accessible rooms are available and there is a car park.
