New and nice, but disorganized hotel
Unfortunately, the reception is disorganized and rather impudent. We had booked and prepaid our rooms through a very well-known and reliable booking platform. Shortly after booking, the hotel even sent a message asking whether we had the required permission to even travel to Karabakh. I told them our tour operator would take care of that, and they responded that everything was fine.
When we arrived at the hotel, the reception staff was surprised about us showing up. They led us to the bar for tea and after about 10 minutes they told us they had found our reservation although strangely for a date 1 month later, and as 'their system' was not working at the time, they could not find out whether they had received the money for our rooms, so we would have to pay for the rooms again. We told them we had prepaid through the booking platform and suggested they check till the next day - we would be here anyway. Impudently and smilingly they told us they could not check us in without payment. The manager was absent. I contacted the platform, and they told told me they would call the hotel and clarify we had made a prepayment. Unfortunately, the platform told me no-one had answered the phone - so obviously the hotel had not provided a valid phone number to the platform. In the end I asked the platform to cancel the reservation which they did, and we paid at the reception. To be fair, I have to say that the reception gave us a discounted price. Alas, it cost us more than an hour discussing, contacting the platform and so on...
So if you plan to stay here, I suggest booking directly with them and not doing any prepayment...
