A Pleasant Stay at the Pelican Bay

Superb location with a lively bar, Bones, by one the three pools, together with two restaurants, one of which is attached to the hotel. There are a couple of restaurants about 5 minutes walk away. The hotel overlooks a canal system and there is a regular boat service to the beach from the canal dock. It is recommended that you hire a car (KSR are very good) to get around the island to the many attractions and beautiful beaches.
We booked a top of the range suite with a magnificent view across the water. Although a bit dated, the amenities were very good, the room was spotless and cleaned daily with fresh towels and the air-conditioning was virtually silent and efficient. There was also a five speed ceiling fan in both the bedroom and sitting area. On the other hand our son and his partner had a lower grade room where the air-conditioning was like the engine room in a ship. They changed and it was just the same. In the end they upgraded to a higher quality room which was fine.
The staff were very charming and helpful. We did not use either the two hotel restaurants (one for breakfast) as we were being entertained by relatives in Freeport.

Pelican Freeport is a different Vibe. It's real chill. You can't help but feel relaxed. You feel vacation mode 100%

We took a 20 minute flight from Nassau to Freeport an Island in The Bahamas on Western Air everything went great. Rented a car from KSR Rent a Car. Stayed at Pelican Bay at Port Lucaya. As soon as we got settled you could feel the stress relief and the chill vibe. Pelican Bay is very clean right on the canal that leads to the ocean. There are great bar and grills on property and others within walking distance. The rooms all have easy access to pools, rooms were clean ac working and fans in the rooms, great showers. It was so chill, service was great and always with a smile really make you feel relaxed man, we got this! we stayed 3 nights and it was great, I feel so rejuvenated after my stay at Pelican Bay. We took a 15 minute drive out east to Stoned Crab Restaurant right on a beautiful beach, we went back every chance we got, food was great, view was amazing and service top class. Freeport is a mix of USA/Island Vibe, it is so easy going, no worry man with all the amenities (including great coffee) that you desire. I highly recommend going to Freeport to just get away and catch yourself with your loved ones and staying at The Pelican Bay, It was great!!

Great location/Restaurant

We visited this hotel for dinner at their "Sabor" restaurant. The location is excellent. The rooms have both water views and ocean views. The interior grounds are well maintained and excellent. This is a hotel and location to use if you want to be in the heart of Freeport. "Sabor" restaurant is open air with excellent food. Stop by for a meal or stay at the hotel. A very nice experience!

One Night Stay

I have stayed at this hotel on previous occasions, this visit did not disappoint. The satff are great but the larger one bed suits are superb. The room aws clean, comfortable, modern and very welcoming with a great view over the water. Highly recommended

Pelican Bay Hotel in Lucaya, Freeport Bahamas

At the moment Pelican Bay is the best hotel on the island. A reliable place to stay.
Clean and quiet rooms, good service
The rest of Lucaya is however falling apart. Government need to step in and do something about it
