Hotel 2G is situated in the centre of Saint-Hubert, the capital of hunting, in the middle of the Belgian Ardennes. The area is the perfect destination for green tourism and distraction. This family hotel has a cosy bar, a good restaurant and 18 simple, but fully equipped rooms waiting for you. Enjoy the nice country side with long walks or bicycle tours. For the right reasons.

Do not expect luxury and glamour.
But be ready for a warm-hearted welcome from a very friendly and spontaneous young lady. She goes out of her way to please you, and that is whilst being her own self.
The rooms have been slightly refurbished since our last stay before corona. They remain basic, but adequate, and clean enough to comply with basic hygiene.
The food is great and an absolute exception at these prices. (Although we heard that there are two cooks, and one does not seem to reach the same level that we have enjoyed.)
During this trip we have found out that almost every place now adapts to 19º C for heating. Not here however, the restaurant and bar is probably a nice 22ºC. Very welcome at this time a year.
I cannot vouch for other positive reactions about this place, but ours is absolutely genuine and without bias.
All in all, one should realise that all has a price in life. This is a cheap place and they do their best to please you. If you cannot handle a little tackyness here and there, I suggest you pay twice or three times the price of what they charge here and your criticism will be viable.
In the mean time, may I suggest to allow these people some slack.
They try to get by in a sector that has been hit hard from Corona and now the energy crisis that has spread all over Europe.
All in all, I like the authenticity of the place and the personal and friendly attitude of the lady attending the place.
We - again- have had a nice stay and a positive experience.

Horrible stay, town where there is absolutely nothing to visit except the church, no shops, sad dead place.

Shabby hotel, dirt everywhere disgusting room, bathroom tufts of hair in the sink no curtain on the window you have it in front of the glass in front of everyone, metal bed mattress 5cm thick, bedroom hanging half unhooked not covering not the windows which are very dirty, no elevator 3 floor on foot with the suitcases the stairs all dilapidated, very cold reception at the reception, meal then the ... we were around, 6 couples and all we had them returned inedible meal, the cook was complaining in the kitchen but never came to apologize, there was no water at the table, there was none in the hotel, not a smile not a hello, the waitress I wore not very correct clothes, dirty holes, and the boss was not even present when we asked to see him, he did not have time, finally the hotel to avoid in St Hubert, like the city

Good value

Very friendly owner. Hotel situated in the centre of the small city of Saint-Hubert with a wonderful Basilica. Central location to visit La Roche-en-Ardenne, Rochefort, Bastogne, Bertrix, … We received the room 21 with a small balcony. The bed was very good. Bathroom amenities were also OK.

Typical hotel from Ardennes

Typical hotel from Ardennes, you'll love it if you love the area, you'll hate it if you expect something like another average hotel. You have to widen your thinking on hotels and appreciate for what it offers, and it's pretty good. Good clean room, decent breakfast, TV and wifi. The service is just OK and the low point is the only dinner that we took. It was painfully slow and the dishes were nor good nor bad, not impressive. Good experience... if you find a restaurant nearby to please your stomach.

Accommodation very disappointing, but food quite good.

My husband and I bought a Groupon for 3 nights, thinking we would have a romantic stay here. Unfortunately, we were disappointed... On the first night, I felt like I just wanted to go home. The hotel is more like a hostel, and is in desperate need of renovation and a general overhaul. We had a room on the third floor (note that there is no lift) which had someone's name on the door - as if we were borrowing their room. It was very basic, with two single beds pushed together which were not level, therefore not making for a comfortable night's sleep. There was no wireless signal on the third floor. The overall feel and look of the whole place was tired, old and tatty. The reception and dining areas were dusty and decor was old-fashioned... However, the food was mostly good. If you arrive at the start of breakfast service (at 8am) the bread rolls and croissants are fresh out of the oven and still warm. The evening meals were good (except for the tasteless potage de legumes which I couldn't finish). The 5 course meal was the best part of the stay. We never received our 'boisson de bienvenue' which was meant to be included in the Groupon. And we were told by our waitress (who was otherwise very helpful) that we couldn't have a carafe of water, but had to buy bottled water, at 4€ for 500mls, which is ridiculous! Overall, the stay was disappointing - we left early each morning and stayed out as long as possible and treated it as just somewhere to lay our heads. Not surprisingly, we won't be going back...
