Paradise in the bush with the nicest hosts

My friend & I wanted somewhere outside the hustle and bustle of Maun so we could chill out for a couple of days after our tour. This lodge was perfect. I felt like we were visiting friends rather than a lodge. The tent was lovely and breakfast was served on our little terrace in a hamper, idyllic!! We went for a walk and Bella the hosts dog actually showed us the way round! I can’t begin to explain how at home we felt here and how lovely it was. The food… well, way beyond any expectations and all home made (even breakfast juice homemade). Verena & Russell really are amazing hosts and very lovely people. This stay was very special and will be one of our most lovely memories of Botswana. Thank you!!!

A delightful spot

We spent the first night of our trip here as it was in the bush but very close to Maun where we had collected our self drive trucks and done our shopping. Russell and Verena were delightful hosts, sharing stories and experiences and pointing out bush babies and owls as we sat on their deck enjoying pre dinner drinks. The dinner was excellent, as was breakfast the next day, both including homemade bread and delicious home cooking. The tents were cosy and comfortable with good bedding and clean bathrooms. Communication from Russell beforehand and after our visit was excellent and we thoroughly recommend Tshima.

friendly personal service

Verena and Russel are excellent hosts, entertaining, extremely helpful. Dinner exceptional home made food, breakfast served picnic style. definitely worth a visit

A wonderful family stay in the bush with exceptional hosts

We had a wonderful time at Tshima Bush camp with the family. The tent was spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. Russell and Verena are wonderful hosts, who have put a lot of time and effort into turning the camp into a little slice of paradise (everything is made of wood, metal and other natural materials, very sustainable). Our son loved playing in the camp grounds with the animals (Bella the dog, the kitties, Kentucky the chicken and many birds), we loved sitting around the table enjoying the views and relaxing. Verena is an amazing cook, who cooks all meals from scratch (I strongly recommend the lunch and/or dinner option). Sitting next to the fire with other guests and sampling her delicacies, while sharing stories about Africa, was an experience to treasure. The mokoro trip in the Okavanago Delta was the highlight of our trip. Thank you for everything Russell and Verena (and Bella of course)!
