⚔️☀️ Once again, a wonderful stay! ☀️⚔️
We always enjoy coming back to Hotel Ruze and are impressed every time. The history of the building and the city alone makes the stay unique: The hotel was formerly a Jesuit monastery, and you can still feel that special historical charm today. As fans of the Middle Ages, we love that everything is beautifully decorated in a medieval style, and the atmosphere perfectly matches the historic old town.
During our stay, the Festival of the Five-Petaled Rose took place as always. My husband wears heavy armor, and with outside temperatures of about 31 degrees Celsius throughout the entire weekend, we certainly worked up quite a sweat. When our air conditioning unexpectedly failed in the evening, immediate action was taken. We promptly received a new room, which we greatly appreciated.
We would like to give special praise to Renan at the reception. He is always friendly, helpful, and professional. You feel welcome and well taken care of with him at any time.
Kveta also immediately took care of our concern and was exceptionally dedicated. We were especially pleased that she even organized an additional clothes rack for us, as I had several medieval dresses with me. This service was truly attentive and made our stay even more enjoyable.
The rooms were – as in all our previous stays – very spacious, clean, and comfortable. We would like to explicitly mention that we had never had any problems before this incident with the air conditioning. That is precisely why we were impressed by how quickly and professionally the situation was resolved.
Another big thank you goes to Vita. She is an incredibly warm person, always attentive, lovable, and helpful. At the breakfast buffet, she keeps an eye on everything, works quickly, and ensures that the guests lack nothing. She has often helped us with questions and greets us every time with a smile. We simply love her!
We were also spoiled culinary-wise. We once dined on the terrace and were thrilled. The food and drinks were excellent, everything was freshly prepared, and the taste was simply outstanding. We are very pleased that the hotel has a chef again – you can immediately tell by the quality of the dishes.
The breakfast buffet also deserves great praise. The selection is very large and diverse, so everyone can truly find something to their taste. From savory to sweet dishes, everything is available, and everything we tried was very delicious and fresh.
We would especially like to highlight the entire hotel team. In all the years and during all our stays, we have never encountered an unfriendly employee. Each one is always friendly, accommodating, and helpful. Especially at an event like the Festival of the Five-Petaled Rose, where we have a lot of equipment, medieval clothing, and even a heavy armor, we particularly appreciate the support. The staff always willingly helps with loading and unloading the car and always has a friendly word and a smile for their guests. Many thanks to the entire team for another wonderful stay. The hotel uniquely combines history, medieval ambiance, comfort, and exceptional hospitality. We feel at home every time and are already looking forward to our next visit.
We have even already booked for next year and can hardly wait to see everyone again. The warm atmosphere and the many lovely people at the hotel make every stay something truly special. We are already looking forward to seeing the entire team again!

very old hotel, but the facilities are alright.
It is actually a great & interesting experience to stay in this hotel with such a long history.

Absolutely fantastic location and view from the hotel. Kind staff and a beautiful city to explore. However, the hotel did not feel like a 5 star experience. The bar was closed all days, the terrace bar and restaurant was also closed. You needed to pay and book sauna and jacuzzi separately. We had a squeaky sound from the bathroom that kept us awake most of the night. The staff was helpful in finding a new room but we were not offered any discount, or similar which I would expect from a hotel with a 5 star rating

A disappointing stay experience
The booking website advertised that the room included slippers, a refrigerator, and air conditioning. Upon arrival, none of these were provided. The front desk dismissed the issue as a booking site error, told me to handle it myself, and even suggested buying slippers for an extra fee.
Although the room had an air conditioner labeled for use between May and October, the hotel refused to turn it on during my mid-May stay, claiming the weather was too cool. This restriction was never disclosed on the website. The hotel instead suggested using a fan, but given the visible dust in many corners, this was unacceptable.
Overall, the hotel shifted all responsibility onto others, offered no solutions or compensation, and failed to meet basic expectations of a five-star property. The experience was disappointing and unworthy of its rating.

We regret that your recent stay did not meet the expectations.
However all infromation regarding, what ammenities are in each room category are correctly stated in each website.
We are sorry that you were unable to use the air conditioning during "warm" period and that this affected your comfort. We can not use A/C while we are still heating the rooms, it does not make any common sense. This is happening few days during spiring or autumn, when night is around 0 degrees and day up to 20. I am sorry for that but it is a specific of our location in south Bohemia region. Some guests are still cold, while others feel over warm. We do ventilate by windows regularly as air in our location is super clean
