We loved this place! The surroundings were amazing, outdoor pool incredible and the buildings were beautiful. Staff was friendly and helpfull.
We had a family room and it was perfect for its purpose.

Maxmilian Schlosshotel: In the castle and yet not in the castle...
Where Maximilian spells himself without "i": Schlosshotel Maxmilian Resort
“Short holiday at the Schlosshotel Maxmilian Lifestyle Resort in Loucen” This is how advertising is done at animod and directly at the Schlosshotel there. I stayed in the hotel for 3 nights in mid-September, but the accommodation did not take place in the actual castle, but in the immediate vicinity in a two-storey square hotel box structure that accommodated around 30 rooms, including mine with the no. Attached to the building (castle hotel) were the main house with restaurant and other rooms and premises as well as an indoor pool. Hotel guests have free admission to the extensive castle park next door (32 hectares). In the castle itself there are three suites, which then cost three times per night.
Located in the small village of Loucen, where there is still a good pizzeria, a small shopping market and an inn nearby. There is a bus stop around 300 metres from the hotel exit. From there you can easily get to Prague, about 60 km away, by public transport. Tip: Every hour there is a bus (line 499) from Loucen to Nymburk. From there, take the Regionalbahn 10 to Prague Central Station. The bus takes just under 30 minutes (30 kronor), the train just under an hour (110 kronor = 4.40 euros).
The double room 226 assigned to me was located in the annex, 2. Floor overlooking the little built up hinterland. The decor of the room was rather simple: Double bed, two chairs, narrow desk element with empty fridge, TV, telephone, coffee/tea maker, closet, mirror, folding carpet and small wardrobe. The bathroom was tiled, looked quite new and had a toilet, sink, good shower, mirror, hairdryer and towel heating. Everything was clean.
The breakfast room on the ground floor (near reception) had a good atmosphere. There were bread, rolls, 2 coffee machines and ready-made filter coffee, juices, sausage, cheese, eggs, hot sausages, cereals, yogurts, pudding and small cakes.
The hotel also has an indoor pool attached to the ground floor. The pool has a size of about 5 x 15 meters and can accommodate an estimated 6 swimming people. To use the pool you must register at the reception. Use is not free, but costs about 4 euros an hour (extra towel incl.). In my package booking once the use of the pool was free for one hour. Water temperature: 26/27 degrees, felt a little colder. Comment on this: The use of the pool should be included for hotel guests... There is also a sauna, which costs 150 crowns, (6 euros) per use. Positively I felt that the pool is reserved for adults from 7-8 am and from 7-10 pm.
In addition to the indoor pool, there is also a biotope pool, which is located about 70 meters from the hotel on a small outdoor elevation. A beautiful complex with a swimming pond (larger than the indoor pool) where green plants also grow for filtering. There are also loungers there. Due to the weather, the outdoor pool is only open from June to September (it was already closed during my stay from 14.-17.9.). Admission: 6 euros for two hours.
Active leisure activities are available next to the hotel in the actual Loucen Castle. In the 230 000 square meter park there are twelve (!) Labyrinths or mazes (made of boxwood, stones, bushes, wood and mosaics), a beautiful tree cover, hiking trails, small lakes, hands-on opportunities and many resting benches. Visiting the castle garden is free of charge for hotel guests. Those who want to take part in guided tours of the castle pay about 15 euros.
The hotel also offers bike rental, parking (6 euros per day), wellness facilities (for a fee) and Wi-Fi (free). Only about 10 minutes walk away is a pizzeria that offers good and inexpensive pizzas (for 8 euros for a pizza, 2 euros for 0.5 liter beer).

Very good breakfast and dinner. Very nice chateau and surroundings (park etc.). Equipment a bit old. Very noisy from other rooms and corridor, however calm in the night. Very friendly reception staff, however slow and overloaded during check-out.
