Spa hotel Děvín

We stayed in a newly renovated room and I must say that the accommodation was very pleasant. The location of the hotel is great, it is not directly on the main street in Mariánské Lázně, but you can get everywhere on foot. The view from the room is sensational. As soon as we arrived at the reception, we felt warmly welcomed, the lady was incredibly nice, she gave advice and explained everything we needed to know. The room is amazing, cozy, fragrant and tidy. Breakfast very rich and really tasty. The experience of this hotel is sensational and we will certainly always visit this hotel when visiting Mariánské Lázně.

Disappointing stay – unfortunately not recommended.
Particularly disappointing: The pictures on the internet obviously show completely newly renovated and modern rooms. However, our room had nothing to do with that at all and in no way corresponded to the pictures shown. We had even booked a suite and were really disappointed given the condition of the room.
The hotel itself was clean, but our room was clearly outdated and was not cleaned during the entire day. We mentioned at the reception that the room did not meet expectations and asked if we could receive a discount for that reason. Unfortunately, this led to repeated arguments, which cost a lot of time and energy. In the end, only a very small discount was granted, which was completely disproportionate to the situation for us.
It was also particularly disappointing that the hotel manager did not even show their face, even though it was such a complaint. We would have expected significantly more accommodation and customer orientation from the management here.
The online check-in was also completely unnecessary for us. Although we had already completed this in advance, the data was completely re-entered at the reception upon arrival. As a result, the online check-in did not save us any time at all. We also found the staff at the reception to be unfriendly.
The breakfast buffet was good and sufficient. The dinner, on the other hand, was rather disappointing and not particularly extensive. The service during the meal was good again.
We also find the parking fees of €15 per day to be significantly too expensive for what is offered.
All in all, our stay was unfortunately very disappointing. Above all, the large difference between the rooms shown online and the room actually received, as well as the handling of our complaint, left a very bad impression. We will definitely not visit this hotel again!

Honestly, some people really shouldn’t work in hospitality. The two people we had contact over the two days with were rude, abrasive and proactively unhelpful. The experience was so bad that we had to find it funny. We were a group and had booked over ten rooms.
Basil Fawlty (of the BBC TV series Fawlty Towers) was our kindest comparison for the gentleman (manager I think) who was unfriendly, borderline aggressive and hilariously grumpy. He made no effort to hide his disdain at being asked for drinks in the bar 20 minutes before it closed (he was also the barman). So much so that we told him not to bother and we all left. Very strange business model.
The rooms are okay, location is lovely and local architecture is beautiful.
I definitely wouldn’t return, and the hotel chain owners should consider training staff in hospitality, customer experience and frankly just how to smile. Even the ridiculously huge Covid screens in reception make the experience more like a prison visit with the staff wholeheartedly supporting that environment.

I didn't like it.

The carpet is more than dirty, all over the hotel, all the floors, in the dining room.
The havia.hairs room of the previous host.
At the restaurant where we dined we were treated very badly.

Hotel Devin is very well located for good value for money.

The Spa Hotel Devin is absolutely recommended not only because of the price/performance ratio, but also because the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. In addition, there is the good quiet location with short distances to the city and the countryside. We had a bedroom, living room and bathroom available. The decor was older but well maintained, the beds impeccable. The spa treatments were a very pleasant side issue for us. We felt completely comfortable and were well catered for as part of the half board.
