Wonderful hotel and accommodation
We stayed at this wonderful hotel in May 2026 and received attentive service from the entire team—especially from Jana, who was exceptionally courteous and attentive. The rooms were impeccable, the gardens splendid, and nature abundant; everything was spotless, and the breakfast and meals were excellent. Thank you for the beautiful memories we are taking home from Raspenava, Czech Republic. We felt right at home in this special place. I highly recommend this hotel. Warm regards from our family in Caxias do Sul, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil.

Disappointment
The hotel is nice, the equipment is standard, the location is good (except for the relatively loud noise from the road), there is a swimming pool in the garden (but we did not try it because of the bad weather). The accommodation is not suitable for people with a physical handicap - the hotel does not have an elevator and, for example, there are many rather steep stairs leading to the 2nd floor.
As for the owners, we were very surprised that when we asked to buy a bottle of wine for the room (which we do as standard everywhere and no one has ever had a problem with it), we were refused, saying that the consumption of wine is only downstairs in the restaurant.
But what was the biggest problem was the food and in general the owner's approach to the issue of catering for guests. The breakfasts were fine and sufficient for me (eggs, sausages, juice, ham, cheese, something sweet) - although if the eggs run out after an hour, there is no fruit and there is only one type of jam, a lot can be improved.
However, we paid extra for half board, which was really bizarre. For example, for CZK 300/person, I would have expected a much larger selection, but mainly quality - a choice of only two hot dishes in stainless steel tubs of the type tomato + pasta / baked meat + potatoes. Or goulash/stickers+meat meat. Some evenings there wasn't even a choice, just one meal and two side dishes. No salads, nothing meatless, just a hard canteen like back in the days at the base. On the last evening, however, we were completely overwhelmed - we received a meatloaf with sirloin sauce (!!!) and a dumpling. I have never seen anything like this in my life. One elderly gentleman even said that it reminded him of war - which speaks for itself. For this price, I would expect either a rich selection of ingredients or ordering dinners à la carte several days in advance (breakfast was obviously included in the price of accommodation, so the mentioned price of 300,- per person was only for dinner!! - for this price we could dine quite luxuriously with steaks in some restaurant).
But the worst thing is that I went back to Booking, where I chose the hotel and then booked it directly with the owners, and verified that my eyes were not deceiving me. While we received the aforementioned luxury for each of the five evenings, on Booking there are photos of a beautiful and rich banquet from the owners' own wedding (I recognized it from the photos) - in my opinion: deception of the customer. We tried to ask for a refund after two dinners, saying we would rather go elsewhere, but were refused. Although we were offered a salad with chicken, the following evenings we walked quietly along the footpath and honestly, we didn't feel like begging for anything anymore.
For us, a big disappointment caused by the dinners - if there is no capacity, staff and experience for it, they should get rid of it and offer only the breakfasts.
I consider as a plus the fact that the price of the dinner included one drink of any kind per person (including wine), which at least somewhat compensated for the others.

czech country guest house
i stayed here for one night in june this year with my son we were in czech for a week,staying at various hotels,this one is close to the german border,its quite grand we had a nice room at the top of the hotel but i dont think there was a lift and we had a lot of stairs to climb,the staff dont speak any english the food was quite good,there is very little to do in the village but if you want a cheap drink,theres a small bar just over the road which seems to be owned by chinese its very unusual but it is very cheap and friendly

Spacious room
Located in a small village, this hotel was easily reached on foot from the station about 20 minutes away. However I suspect most of the passing trade would be those in their cars. The pathway from the road to the front of the hotel was in poor condition with large puddles. Fine if you're driving but not if you are on foot. Having arrived after 20:00 I was checked via the staff at the bar. Room was a huge family room - one double and a single bed complete with sofa. Bathroom facilities were OK although no gel/shampoo provided for the shower. Good job I had brought my own. Dinner was taken in the dining room downstairs and a help yourself breakfast from 07:00 the next morning.

Two nights in a real castle
Me and my collegues have spent two night in this hotel in May last year. It was great to stay there. Lovely hotel built by reconstruction of real castle from 17th centrury including beuatiful gardens. Very polite + helpful staff and delicious meal for very resonable price. We have really enjoyed stay here!
