Stunning architecture and setting, service needs work

Stunning architecture and setting set a high bar, but the service and dining were a bit off - staff felt unexperienced and often unable to explain policies on dinner pricing, etc. Our boat excursion on the hotel's boat was fantastic, with good guides (freelancers) and interesting sights - penguins, sea lions, dolphins a plenty, and the quaint churches and weathered houses of the nearby islands. I'm sure it's hard to get good staff in such a remote location, but they need to strive for better to match the accolades the hotel has received. Dining was a mixed bag - breakfast was nice, the dinners were very hit or miss (and pricing confusing for what could be ordered a la carte or by fixed menu), and the curanto evening was a real highlight that they handled really well.

Paradise in Castro!

An extraordinary experience. Everything about Refugia Chiloé is 5 stars. Rooms, spaces, kitchen, equipment! Special mention to the room equipment: Mapi, Constance, Solange, Salvador, Angelo, Daniela. Also to the guides: Ivonne, Jessica, Pablo and Giovanna. As well as the ship's crew: Enrique, Francisco and Emilio! Awesome!

This was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels. From the staff, to the grounds, to the ameneties, this place is impeccable. We felt completely taken care of by the staff. The entire process was absolutely wonderful

Rufugia Chiloe is Great . We will return .

The best and only really good place in the beautiful Island in Chiloe .
It’s pricey but wonderful team , service, fantastic breakfast , stunning rooms .

Simple luxury

Fantastic in every way. Rooms are well appointed and have fantastic views across the bay. Staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel genuinely welcome. Food is absolutely superb, with fresh local ingredients. Activities are varied - we did kayaking, horse riding and a trip on the Williche. Spa was good too - very good massage. They even gave us a lunch bag for our onwards journey. I would not hesitate to return. It was important to us that the hotel was relaxed and didn’t feel pretentious
