Hotel with views
Nice hotel in Puerto Varas, with beautiful views over the volcano and lake. Somewhat small room, normal breakfast and friendly staff. It has parking spaces. It has a tiny heated pool and is somewhat away from the center, so you need a transport.

Decent, Basic Room About 1 km from the Center
The most German thing about Dein Haus is the name. The rest is very Chilean, both in a good and a less good way.
The view from our decent but somewhat bare room down to the lake is excellent. Wifi works great, breakfast is certainly satisfying without being memorable. There is free parking on site.
The curtains, on the other hand, are troublesome to deal with, a closet door scrapes noisily against the floor, and the bathroom is so small that you almost have to back into it. The staff are polite but not affectionate.
The distance to the center with all the restaurants is over 1 km, which will deter some from walking - but we got used to it during our 3 nights here and actually ended up enjoying a bit of exercise after dinner.

Basic and not very welcoming
Stayed here for three nights in January.
The room was very basic with a view of the bin area.
We arrived early after the overnight bus from Santiago and they allowed us to store our cases until check in. We went for a walk round the town and when we returned for check in the receptionist could not find the keys for the cupboard they were locked in. She eventually found them (in between taking phone calls). She was not very welcoming at all, did not tell us anything about the hotel just breakfast time.
The room was very basic - two beds, a shelf in between the beds, a chair and two plugs in the bedroom (one for the bedside light) - we had to lay our cases on the floor and use them as low tables for necessities.
There was one window that opened and it was an inaccessible skylight which we had to climb on a chair to shut the blind.
Breakfast was OK but we were not made aware that we could order eggs if we wanted them until the last day (after we had finished our breakfast).
We were on the first floor and this was accessed via a wooden staircase with a spiral in it - we had to carry our suitcases up as there was no working lift (though there was what looked like a lift there) being older ladies we found this very difficult. The stairs quite often had bits of water on them which was a hazard.
We looked out at the "swimming pool" it was very small and we could only see two sunbeds.
In summary I would suggest you research other hotels in Puerto Varas as I am sure there must be others for around the same price that are more welcoming and homely and closer to the town.

Huge apartment in a peaceful location
We stayed in a 3 bedroom apartment with a massive lounge and separate kitchen area, with distant views of the lake and Osorno Volcano. The hotel is a 15-20 minute walk uphill from the town centre in a quiet area of town. The room was quite cold when we arrived, but each evening someone came in to light the wood burner, which also heated the radiators, making it lovely and cosy. The only minor complaint - we had a gas oven, but nothing to light it with, which to be fair seemed common all over Chile, although it was soon rectified once pointed out to reception.

A very good place to stay
This hotel is a very good choice to stay in Puerto Varas. Its location at the top of Puerto Varas has a magnificent view of the lake and the volcano.
Our room was very comfortable with a comfortable and spacious bathroom.
The staff is very attentive and friendly. After a day of sightseeing one can choose to enjoy the outdoor jakuzzi enjoying the view of the lake.
The internet connection is very good.
The breakfast is very complete including options for all tastes.
