Hotel Saudade at Gradac — A Truly Wonderful Croatian Getaway
As someone who travels extensively around the world, both for business and family vacations, I wanted to share our experience at Hotel Saudade. It was truly one of the most comfortable, relaxing, and enjoyable places we have ever spent a week.
From the moment we arrived, the entire team made our family vacation in Croatia special. We booked a half-board stay, which included a rich buffet breakfast and dinner each evening, with a choice of five different dishes.
There are so many thoughtful details that make this hotel stand out. The rooms are exceptionally clean, the property feels safe and welcoming, and the sea views are simply breathtaking. Breakfast and dinner are served right above the beach, creating a wonderful view and atmosphere. Guests also enjoy free sun loungers and umbrellas, parking, beach towels, and books, as well as laundry service. Our room had a refrigerator with reasonably priced drinks, and we were welcomed with complimentary bottles of water and cookies — such lovely little touches!
And then there is the food!
Everything was fresh, delicious, and plentiful. As a seafood lover, I especially appreciated the fresh fish available every evening, prepared beautifully. A special thank-you to the chef for the wonderful meals!
The hospitality deserves special mention as well. From the warm welcome at reception to everyone who looked after us during our stay, we always felt genuinely welcomed, valued, and cared for.
Gradac is a charming and vibrant little Adriatic town, with plenty to see, enjoy, and explore. Within a 5–10 minute walk, you can find restaurants, cafés and ice cream shops, small stores, a pharmacy, post office, bank, souvenir and beach shops, as well as a beautiful promenade closed to cars. There are also excursions to nearby islands and live-music evenings, so there is plenty to enjoy beyond the hotel.
I could write so much more, but sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, so I am including a few photos to give future guests a glimpse of what to expect.
I wholeheartedly recommend this 4-star hotel to anyone looking for a relaxing Croatian getaway with a beautiful beach, delicious food, stunning views, and genuinely warm hospitality.

Highly recommended!!!
Amazing hotel with a stunning view of the Adriatic Sea and every day a beautiful sunset. The rooms are beautiful, spotless, and very comfortable. The food is delicious, but what really makes this place special is the incredibly friendly staff. Nothing is too much to ask, and every request is met with a genuine smile. Excellent service, wonderful atmosphere, and a place we would happily return to. Highly recommended!

Beautiful discovery by the water
Very nice discovery on the route from Split to Dubrovnik. By the sea in a quiet area. Four-star hotel restaurant. Simple menu at more than reasonable prices. Very pleasant staff.

Seeing you again is fun – especially at the Hotel Saudade with the restaurant Fado!
We're back, and what should we say? It almost feels like we've never been away. Two weeks of relaxation, sunshine and really good food, all right on the dreamlike Adriatic Sea.
The whole team in the hotel and restaurant is simply top. Incredibly hardworking, attentive and always friendly and warm. Whether at breakfast, at the reception or at dinner, everyone has a smile on their lips, even when it is full. This is real hospitality.
And then the food at Fado. Every evening a new explosion of taste – freshly caught, homemade, served with love and so good that you wonder for a second whether you could move secretly into the kitchen. The chef deserves a medal or at least applause when serving.
The hotel itself is a real feel-good place. Perfect for switching off, no noise, no hustle and bustle, just sea noise, good food and the feeling of being in exactly the right place.
Conclusion: If you don't relax here, it's your own fault. Hotel Saudade and Restaurant Fado? Very clear recommendation with asterisk and holiday heart!

A dream stay at the Hotel Saudade
We stayed at the Hotel Saudade in Gradac for the 2nd time. Enjoyed to the fullest! The location is simply unbeatable – right on the promenade, with a breathtaking view of the crystal clear sea and just steps from the beach.
The hotel itself is stylishly decorated, very clean and offers a pleasant, quiet atmosphere. Our room was spacious, modern and had a balcony with sea views – an absolute dream at sunset!
We would like to emphasize the friendly and courteous staff. Every wish was met with a smile and we felt completely welcome. Breakfast and dinner were excellent: fresh, varied and on the terrace with sea views a real highlight.
The Quality of food was excellent, especially the fish dishes and Croatian specialties inspired us.
For those looking for peace, comfort and Mediterranean flair, Hotel Saudade is the perfect choice. We will definitely be back!
