Unfortunately the only place to stay in Koprivnica

I had to stay there because it is theonly hotel in Koprivnica. But it is very old and looks like a lodging for workers and the poor propld. The whole building stinks of sewage and it was very cold. There was no heating in the building and outside it was minus temperatures. Ok the price was low but still then need renovation ASAP.

Average hotel that needs investment

Podravina is an average hotel that needs investment. It reminds on socialism times and misses a lot in comparison with modern hotels. I could cope with that if the air conditioner was not that noisy during the night.

Old, tired but the only hotel in town!

The hotel was built in 1967 and whilst there has been some modernisation it is still a very 70's / 80's hotel. The rooms are very small and the bathrooms even smaller. My room had air-conditioning - it made plenty of noise but certainly did not work! When hot your only choice is to open the window but this is not much of a solution. Colleagues in other rooms did not even have air-conditioning fitted and working showers. The breakfast is very limited and not really acceptable in 2018. On the plus side, staff are friendly; there is free internet and parking. The hotel would benefit from an upgrade. The cost of a night's accommodation reasonably reflects the accommodation and there is free cancellation. Given that this is the only hotel in the town and very close to the centre it is a reasonable choice if you need to stay in Koprivnica, otherwise stay elsewhere and travel in. Unless customers complain I am not sure the hotel will ever improve.

It's like this for like 15 years...

I've been coming to this hotel for like 15 years but nothing changes in rooms...
I put few pictures just to get feeling of what I'm talking about....
But the sadest thing is... This is the best/only hotel in Koprivnica!!
I must say that breakfast is Ok. Staff is really nice and polite, but please redecorate this rooms because this is disaster.

This place was new in the last century, but it works...

There are not many reasons to travel to Koprivnica and so there are not many places to stay overnight.
Hotel Podravina may remember times of former Yugoslavia and at those times it might have been considered modern. The place is well maintained, but not really renovated, just beds were probably replaced recently. Dark corridors, small rooms, small windows, plenty of sockets for all your battery chargers, simple built in closets, solid beds… Everything is clean and working, but worn out by time.
If you are used to staying at Hitlon hotels than you may be afraid to enter this place, but if you are used to 3-stars hotels in this part of the world then you may be positively surprised.
The best at the hotel are the people. Good English and professional courtesy at the front desk and helpful waiters in a restaurant, which serves local food in local quality, which in Croatia means really fresh and tasty food.
Not romantic at all, no high class, but a place where you can survive a night in Koprivnica, ...but if in Croatia you pay 64,- Euro / night then for that money you expect more...
