A culinary gem in Istria – Konoba Daniela!

We were very lucky to spend 8 nights with Daniela in Veleniki during our holiday in Poreč – and what an unforgettable experience that was!
As soon as you enter the charming, rustically furnished restaurant, you can feel the warm atmosphere and attention to detail. The welcome was warm and authentic – you immediately feel at home with friends. The restaurant is run by a family, and that's exactly what makes the difference: It is cooked and served with passion.
The food was simply fantastic! Homemade pasta, the kind you rarely get anymore, buttery meat dishes and freshly caught fish – all perfectly prepared and beautifully arranged. Of particular note is the steak tartare, which is freshly prepared right at the table – a real experience! The regional wines also go well with the menu.
The service was attentive, friendly and at the same time pleasantly unobtrusive. Every wish was met and we got great recommendations for food and drinks.
In summer, the garden is an absolute dream – quiet, green and atmospherically lit. In winter, the fireplace room provides pure coziness.
Conclusion: If you want to experience authentic Istrian cuisine at the highest level in a family atmosphere, Konoba Daniela is the place to be. We will definitely come back – and bring friends next time!

We stayed at Villa Hizina, and everything is exactly as in the pictures on the homepage.
So it was just perfect!
Great hosts, the cleanliness is tip top!

Warm and calm

Well located, right next to the family Konoba in the countryside. Porec can be reached in a few minutes. The house has a few rooms and everything is very clean and new. The friendly staff are quick and attentive. The best thing is that everything is uncomplicated and warm, just lovely! We'll be back!

Great rest a short drive from the seaside

We were looking for a quiet stay with some extra amenities near central Istria. We were very pleased with the room size, cleanliness and service in general. The breakfast was excellent, in their restaurant wich we full-heartedly recommend for lunch and dinner.
Keep in mind that there are rooms above the restaurant as well as newer acommodations with a pool and a large courtyard. There you might be more comfortable in a room on the second floor, since ground floor rooms have a direct exit to the pool area which might not be to you liking.

Fantastic stay at this Istrian hotel (B&B)

We chose this hotel in first instance because it is an ideal starting point for visiting Istria; from here to Umag, Porec, Rovinj, Pula, and the inland of Istria if you have a car, it is not very far. But it is also such a quiet peaceful place only a few km from the sea and the hotels full of tourists. You can eat local food here between the local people. The restaurant of the family is in one word 'great'. The family of Daniela who run the hotel and the restaurant are just warm, helpful, friendly and also dedicated people. There is a fine swimming pool outside, and a car can be parked easily.We had a room for a person with a handicap, and that was perfect for us. We enjoyed our stay very much!!!
